OK so I preordered two copies of the collector's edition from Amazon right? So why did I then preorder a third copy from GameStop? There are no words to explain this madness

It's a pity an "Ultimate CE" is not materializing considering ME3 is the trilogy's final chapter (there had to be a Super CE to go out with a bang haha), but there is nothing that we can do at this point, other than pre-ordering the CE and embrace all the amazing job you've done so far.

I guess in a few minutes I'll pre-order 2 CE's from Amazon and a Normady Replica in order to compensate the bummer feeling, maybe even the Special Edition Guide (yes that's how much I wanted an Ultimate CE haha), in the end this is something the hardcore fans will eventually get over with.

I noticed that too.  The PC and digital versions of ME2 were cheaper.

Well I must say that I’m a bit disappointed. I was expecting an amazing edition with some tangible items that I could keep and display long after the game was over and although it does include the Art Book, lithograph and patch the rest is just meh. I could quite frankly care less for the downloadable content. In fact, I usually just sell the DLC codes my games come with on ebay to offset the cost of the game. As an example I sold the codes that came with my signature edition of DA2 for $50 which means the game only cost me $10. Besides, DLC that comes with games is usually only useful in the first hours of the game and then you get better stuff later on. Also, I know it says the only way to get this dlc is by buying this edition but lets be honest they’ll probably sell some if not all of the dlc shortly after the game is released to make more money. I’m ok with the metal case but it’s just that, a metal game case. It appears to be the same case design as the one that the collector’s edition of ME2 came in with just different images on it. I really was hoping for a metal case shaped like something from the ME universe. I really can’t believe Bioware didn’t include more tangible items. No weapon replicas, no thumb drive, no poster map of the universe and no dog tags. The thumb drive was a bit of a stretch but I felt the others were easily doable. They can’t say cost was a concern because the Witcher 2 Collector’s edition came with all sorts of interesting extras and cost $130. That Resistance 3 survivor edition looks pretty sweet too but I couldn’t find a price for it. Honestly I was willing to shell out up to $150 for the Ultimate edition but I suppose this collector’s edition will have to suffice.

I mean come on Bioware, this is the final chapter of what has been an amazing gaming experience. The story line, graphics, voice acting and gameplay have all been top notch and I thank you for that. But now in honor of this final game in the trilogy this is the best you can come up with? And to make it even worse we find out that the game isn’t even coming out till March 6th of next year. All I can say is that ME3 had better be one hell of an ending for the series. Although, if you’re putting as much effort into the game as you did coming up with this collector’s edition I fear for the worst.

I do apologize for being so negative but I was really looking forward to an amazing Ultimate Edition for this game. It has quite literally been one of the best if not the best game series I’ve ever played and I just feel it deserves more. I mean I bought an Xbox 360 with the sole purpose of playing ME when it came out. I don’t know if it’s possible but I do hope you guys reconsider putting out an Ultimate Edition for us hard core mass effect fans. I really would spend up to $150 on it and I’m sure many others would as well. You’ve got nine months to work on the game and I hope in that time you change your mind and create a Mass Effect Ultimate Edition worthy of the series.

On a side note, i just noticed that ME2 Team lithograph in the bioware store and i must say bravo. It looks amazing. Now thats something worthy of an ME3 Ultimate Edition.

Hm, I was hoping for some great extra, something no one expected.
And frankly, all that ingame dlc-ish stuff (especially the appearance packs) doesn't bode that well.
Ah, well, just ordered the Normandy model, time to make my own CE.

I think this collector's edition is all we're getting from BioWare. I was a bit disappointed for a second but then I remembered that the Normandy SR2 model is available for preorder from BioWare's store (it's scheduled to ship in November). That satisfies the desire for a model from the Mass Effect series I'd say. As for the rest i'll just say that this collector's edition, while not as grand as we all wanted, is still a good deal.

 It sucks when the sequel to Dead Space, a game that that originally pulled in a niche audience, was granted permission to develop an Uber edition while ME3, sequel to one of EA's most critically acclaimed games of all time, cannot.

Unless a dev can supply a damn good reason for this, I am contemplating starting a petition.
