So, has anyone suggested an issue of Fornax as the bonus item yet?

I personally would love to see a high quality model of the Normandy or a replica N7 helmet. I'd definately buy it if it had one of them. A codex/encyclopedia book would be nice too.

I would like to have a collector item of great quality. The ME2 CE was really boring, the only thing valuable there (apart from game disk, of course), was the box art. So, I want something epic like N7 helmet replica, Normandy scale model or a team statue like it was done in Halo: Reach. The CE of a trilogy final deserves some epicness.

A scale 1/1-model of an Avenger Assault-Rifle, completely foldable and with a stand to present it.

(Maybe even with an unfold-mechanism like the ones those StarCom-toys from my child-time had).

I definitely want to see a model of the Normandy. I could live without the N7 helmet but wouldn't mind seeing a model of the Revenant machine gun or the Widow sniper rifle. A replica of the Carnifex Hand Cannon would be suitable replacement for either weapon as well.

I'm sure BioWare has a serious package in the work for the collector's edition of ME3. With the all the requests for diecast models it wouldn't surprise me if everything came in a box.

Since Mass Effect 3 has been officially announced I've decided to throw out a few possible suggestions for a special edition:
-Mass Effect 3 Collector's Edition
-Mass Effect 3 Platinum Edition
-Mass Effect Ultimate Edition
-Mass Effect 3 Signature Edition

That's all I can think of for now.

Mass Effect 3: Reaper 's Edition?

Wait , so which edition comes with the life sized Tali blow up and a Fornax magazine.Packaging that may or may not resemble a ME weapon , ship or helmet.

Joking aside , I wonder if the cerberus or shadow broker network cards will be offered in all retail copies.

Screw the goodies. It should have a really epic case. Like a black box from the first normandy lol.
I would love to have something as simple and prosaic as a t-shirt inside, a pendrive with Mass Effect desing, a PROPER artbook.
Compared to Fallout 3, Drakensang, World of Warcraft, Halo... Mass Effect 2 had a pretty medicore edition.
Doing a comparision:
  • For my PC copy of Mass Effect 2 Collector's edition I payed 179.00 PLN (around 60 USD)
Inside it had a 48 pages, really small, hardcovered art book with concept art mostly - not impresive since the artwork was shrinked too much to apriciate it; two additional armors and two additional weapons that have absolutely no value in the game except for looking good (one of them), it's worth mentioning that anyone who pirated the game had all the preorder and collectors edition goodies from day one so they have absolutely no value as a collectible item; a copy of Mass Effect Redemption comic in A5 format if I'm not mistaken; a "making of" DVD... I'm not going to comment on it's contents and the Cerberus Network acces card that turned out not being exclusive to the collecots edition at all so it shouldn't be counted one of it's goodies. It came in a regular box + additionaly had a metal DVD box.

  • Cataclysm's collection edition has a fat, hardcovered A4 artbook with 176 pages, a soundtrack, deck of cards, a mousepad and some ingame goodies (also worth mentioning that in an MMO ingame goodies are something that actualy have value and cannot be gained in any other way). It comes in a nicely looking chest and costs around 260 PLN (~88 USD). It's about 27 bucks more expensive than ME2. If I'm decided to buy an exclusive, limited edition that's not a diffrence I care about and frankly speaking the Artbook would be worth half of the whole price to me.

  • Assasin's Creed Brotherhood Codex Edition comes with an exclusive codex that works as an artbook and some lore info and I must say is incrediby nicely made, a map of Rome, a DVD with soundtrack and some bonus content, a DVD with Assasin's Creed Lineage (a short movie), two additional missions and two additional multiplayer characters and a booster of cards. All this is fited into a really awesomely looking plastic box. Preorder of the PC version is 170 PLN (~58 USD) making it actualy cheaper than Mass Effect 2.

  • Now my absolute favourite: Drakensang: The River of Time. This baby came with a T-shirt, game themed candle (lol), a full set of pen and paper RPG (rulebook, character sheets, dices), soundtrack, 4 DLC items, full copy of the previous game (premiere eddition), a dwarven coin, bonus DVD ("making of", wallpapers, game materials, concept art) and postcards. Came in a box similar to Cataclysm. Last time I have seen it on shelves it was about 170 PLN (~58 USD) and Drakensang was not as major and hyped out title as ME2.

tl;dr: Mass Effect 2 had a pretty bad special eddition when compared to others... hopefully it will change with Mass Effect 3.

That's why I think the C or SB network cards should be exclusive to the collector's edition , and allow free downloads of the dlc content. The making of dvd I enjoyed , wish it could have been longer showed more of the technology involved in game creation process.Bigger Artwork book , and the comic was ok .

The Witcher 2 has a great collector's edition. I'm just sayin'...
Don't make me wrong BW, but if you want make another "Signature Edition" but this time for ME3 and call it " Collector's Edition " then good luck. It's doesn't even looks like collector's edition. Few more DLC cut from game, damn soundtrack and they call it CE... eh.

PS: Even normal edition of Witcher is more richer than " CE " DA2.

Maybe I'll buy the "Special Edition" of ME3, but I don't know if it's worth it, I mean, nowadays all the in-game special content comes as a code for download trough DLC and the xbox service in Arg. isn't avaiable. I hope they put some really cool stuff as a replica or something like that

A wearable N7 helmet

A replica assault rifle

A Normandy statue

A statue of all squad mates from both games standing together

A codex filled with infomation on the Mass Effect universe complete with coloured pictures

A big fully coloured poster

Codes for some in game weapons and armour

I'm really hoping they go all out with Mass Effect 3s Collectors Edition. I'd be willing to pay a few hundred for it. For people who don't want to pay that much they could release smalled collectors editions with less stuff in them.

-What I mainly want is a soundtrack. I love the music in both games a lot, and I'd love to have immediate access to the music as soon as I get the game!

-A making-of DVD, of course.

-Gamerpics and themes I suppose. Couldn't hurt to spruce up the place a bit.

-Cerberus Network 2.0. Or whatever organization Shep will be working with. Basically, free DLC, and more than there was for ME2!

However, something that I think would be really cool to see that I don't think has been done before, (or at least not for a while.) would be to have different themed collector's editions. What I mean by that is, when you preorder it at the store, or wherever, you will get the option of choosing what type of CE you would like. Since ME3 will be all about united multiple races/organizations/etc. this will be reflected by the CE in that you can choose which race/organization/etc. would be the theme of your CE. The options for the different "themes" would be as follows:
-Alliance Military
-Turians/Salarians/Asari (Council races. Could combine them all together, or separately.)
-Volus/Elchor/Hanar/Krogan/Drell/etc. (Non-council, Citadel races. Most likely combined, if included at all. Still unsure.)
-Quarians
-Geth
-Cerberus
-Mercs (Blue Suns, Blood Pack, Eclipse, etc. Bit of stretch, I admit, but if they're "recruitable" in ME3, why not?)
-Reapers
-Or you could choose to have a little bit of everything with a "Shepard Edition" showing off Male/Fem shep as well as some of the crew.

Changes between the editions will be specialized cases, with everything inside it looking like it would belong to that race/organization. Perhaps have different things for each one, though I think that might be a bit much.

Wouldn't be very practical, but hey, a man can dream!

Also, MORDIN SOLUS PLUSHIEEEEEEEE!!!!
