I think the question is kind of one of mindset.  Either you can look at it as they're keeping content away from you if you don't preorder, or giving you content if you preorder.  There's a difference.  It might actually be useful as a crappy psychology test.

It's a decision. Nobody is forced to pre-order. If you do it, and then didn't like the game, well, shame. Sell it.
And the character...like I said before, surely it'll appear at the Marketplace and PSN in a couple of months. I doubt it'll remain exclusive to the SE.

That is, until a dev proves me wrong.


But ME2 wasn't going to appear on the PS3. Right?

Why not? YOu are not really entitled to that character you know? Bioware could simply say "Everyone pays if they want the char" and they would be well within their rights.

Who knows. It's too soon to jump to conclusions.
People who didn't pre-order will want the character, and it'll eventually get released. Maybe in two months, maybe in six, I don't know. But I'm fairly sure that it'll happen.

"Gimmie it because I want it!"    You don't deserve content that was designed from the start to be extra. 

The car example fails, as usual.  The better example is MP3 players and digital cameras come from the same factory.  One was designed for one job, one was designed for another.  The same factory makes them, but you don't deserve one because you bought the other, or because you bought one last year.

They all but confirmed it with the DA2 Cerberus Network that it wasn't exclusive and it'll be in each new copy, like we've been saying since it was announced.

Its already been said that cars have plenty of optional extras that you pay extra for or get during special promotions. And you don't have to buy the game without test driving it anyway assuming a demo is released, you simply won't get the reward.

But as long as we operate under the assumption that the character is "extra" then it remains a bonus.  If the character was designed and finished by the time the game went gold(note I didn't say come out, there's a difference) and taken out as dlc, then that would be a bit shady.  But if the character was(as these bonus characters are almost always desinged) maybe planned before the game went gold and made in the interim before the game comes out, then that's fine by me. 

It's not even an essential feature of the game this character.

You have irritated me enough before...this isn't about deserving them. What the hell is this a will? It's an extra character I would willing pay for it later instead of geting it with the pre-order. But I don't like what I'm seeing wiht DA2 so far and I'm not going to pre-order it soooooo far.

So if you don't like the game... why would anyone be upset they aren't getting a free character?

I'm going to take your MP3 analogy one step further.  A character in DA2 would be like a song to DA2's MP3 player.  If you buy the MP3 player you aren't entitled to the song, but let's say you do something and you do get the song as a reward for maybe preordering the MP3 player. 

The preorder bonus is basically a reward for faith, not a punishment for skepticism, especially since everyone will probably get the opportunity to get it later.
