I, personally, love the new look about Isabela. She stands out much more now with the revisions, more so than her standard NPC look in the Pearl. Her new clothing is amazing, although I find all of the new armor to be awesome. The Free Marches appear to be much more--not frontier, exactly--but along those lines. It seems we're being given a more rugged landscape, and the armor and all now have some edge to them. I love the Origins armor/clothes as well, but DA2 is really throwing in individuality as far as I can tell. (I could ramble about my thoughts on all this for an extremely long time, so I'll move on!)
I have no problems with her face. She looks beautiful and strong. I have no doubt that she can take care of herself very easily (and the trailer helps reinforce that belief). I'm excited to get to know more about her more than anything, because she intrigued me in Origins. I had quite a nice card game with her, and that's all my characters ever did with her. I didn't know about the "romance" options until much later. That just makes her more appealing (although not for "those" reasons)!
To me, she seems to epitomize freedom. She runs her own ship and lets herself go, wherever with whomever. I admire that. She reminds me of some of the buccaneers I read journals from and studied about in my French America class. I just envy that sort of free spirited nature. From what we know, or seem to know, about her I think she'll be a highly interesting character to have around.
I think max rivalry with her, as SirOccam put it, would be spicy. I'm going to hold out on who I decide to romance, but she'll find someone on one of my playthroughs! I can see her being an extremely fun character to banter with in rivalry though. Part of me now wants to go and watch Gimli and Legolas in combat.
We don't know at what point in time she comes into the story. It spans 10 years, so it may be a few years before we see her or perhaps she'll grant us passage to Kirkwall. It's hard to say right now. I think that timing will be kept in mind, and that she'll likely appear a couple of years into it. That, or as someone said in another thread somewhere, she might be unavailable for a time as she returns to Denerim where she would have met the Warden.
Plus, she's being written by Sheryl. She gave me Wynne

, who I would totally have a mutual love and respect romance with in a heartbeat if the dialogue allowed me to. I trust Sheryl will give us a great personality to work with, for any type of Hawke we play (bad, chaotic, good, orderly, etc).
Edit: Made the typing look less of like a wall. Ick! It really didn't submit well.
