That's a laptop?

Is that a dedicated video card or one that shares memory?

If it shares memory, there's your problem (at least a big portion of it).

I believe you must hunt and peck to type, and ignored your typing errors. There is no such Radeon as an HD 5040. There is the HD 5850, 5870, and 5970, however, and none of those require anything from the main memory pool.  There also are an HD 5450, 5550, 5570, 5670, 5760, and a 5770 Radeon, and only the first three, named already (above) come with 2 GBs (and the HD 5450 with any more than 256 MBs is an absolute SCAM)..

It will be best if you pay better attention to what you write, and perform an edit to correct your error, then maybe someone can help you more easily.

Can't find anything out about a HD 4050. Don't think it's real.

Try the resolutions and settings here http://www.hardwarec...-review-10.html Your not going to get very good performance with that card. You can also check out this thread here http://social.biowar...index/4550699/1 about your card. A HD 5770 would be a lot better and are about 160.00 dollars.

The Op may be dyslexic or something. I'll look it up, but TTBOMK, there is still no Radeon to match that description, I don't think. OK, I've visited Newegg, and although it's a 64 bit card, and very slow, so that 128 MBs is its max usable VRAM in games, all of the cards that I saw had either 512 MBs or a GB attached to them, but none with "2 GBs".

I have the Radeon HD 5450. It runs NWN2 fine (30 fps D:), at 1378x980 or so (not sure on the specific number), no grass, no shadows, high textures. I can probably get better FPS if I fiddle with the grapchics settings more. I believe it has one gigabyte of VRAM, but a very low memory pipe which limits its usefulness for shiny, shiny games. (Apologies if my terminology is all off.) The 5450 is a decent card, but it unfortunately isn't a gaming card.

ChasenCharran, your problem is probably the giant resolution you're playing at - that's way too high for the 5450. High Resolutions, dynamic shadows, and a high level of antialiasing/aniscopic filtering are the biggest FPS killers in games, as far as I'm aware.
