I'm working on the quest chain for lord Harrowmont and have to come to the point where I am searching for Jarvais's hideout. I spoke with the merchant and he told me of an entrance "across the way" and to wait for her thugs to go there. Unfortunately nothing is happening. I waited around. I spoke to everyone in dirt town. I checked all the walls. Nothing. I've read its possible to break these quest chains so i am wondering if that happened. Or am I just missing something so painfully obvious I should be ashamed of myself? Any help would be appreciated

I didn't speak to the merchant, but I was attacked when I went into the last house down the road.

Edit: Where I got the fingerbone key, I should add.

hmmmm I'll check that house again

Yea after you learn about the Thugs you go back into the abandoned house, kill/convince them to give you the key, then you can get in.

Try talking to the begger woman and then go into the abandoned house.
