Isabela: D: Noooo! That's a lie! Y-
Hawke: Don't say it Isabela!

At least we know her ship, or at least that one, is a sailing vessel and not a galley. I say "at least" from my perspective, as I'm pretty sure no one else would care about details like that, heh. Looks like a ship-rigged three master based on the scale, quite big for a pirate ship in real life

i like the way Hawkes grabs Isabela, i would get slapped if i tried that in the real world. lol

now that aveline prolly most likely be the other female LI, i wonder how she will get along with Isabela since she doesnt believe in chivalry like Aveline. I wonder how she will handle Aveline if they both are into hawke, will it be much different from Morrigan/ Leliana catfights. Will Aveline threatn to punch Isabela, and Isabela calls Aveline on her bluff. im going to like DA2.

Great pics.

I love that whole sequence when he grabs her, they kiss, then she slips out of his arms and forces him back with her dagger before walking down the dock.

Makes me wonder if that isn't an indication of another "wasn't meant to be" kind of relationship in Dragon Age?

The relationship was meant to be. Sadly, it was meant to be another buckle on Isabela's boot.

The sequence is backwards, by the way. She actually walks toward Hawke, draws her dagger, Hawke grabs her and they kiss.

Since everything's going backwards in the Destiny flashbacks... she actually approaches him with her weapon, he pulls her into his arms, and they embrace.

Edit: Ninja'ed because I wasted time double-checking. :crying:

She looks more herself than the Sacred Ashes Morrigan, Sten, Leliana, and Warden looked like anything we saw in the game.

But she's gorgeous either way.

It's "a lot."

I've decided Isabela smells like patchouli oil.

I take it you're not a fan?

I suspect it's because she's wearing a great deal of jewelry and feels vaguely bohemian to me. Also, she's a sailor. This means she's used to spending long periods in tight quarters with men and women who are infrequent bathers.

There you go with your logic again.

I've had some bad experiences with the stuff, and thats all I'm gonna say.

I thought Isabela refered to her crew as men during her convo in DAO? Which I respected, because woman in charge of a ship full of men shows alot of character, and growing up in a all boys school i can tell you we rarely bathed, so yes smell would be bad.

"Are you so starved for attention that you would lie with this woman who smells of salt and tar? I swear by Flemeth's beard, if her stink rubs off on you, I will never touch you again."

it SADDENS me.....I do not mind a romance being "easy" to get I just to not want it to become a casual thing, I know an Isabela-romance will be more than capable of depth and even sappiness or at least deep meaning.

but I get the feeling it's just gonna be another casual encounter......groans

When I lived in Michigan, the summers were hot and humid while the winters were ice cold, so they covered the roads with tar instead of asphalt. During June, my entire neighborhood smelled of it. I recall you could comfortably walk barefoot along it because it was fairly squishy but it always stained the bottom of my feet black.

Unless it's fresh, tar isn't a harsh scent, but I would never consider it the sort of thing you'd want to smell on a lover.

Nothing suggests to me that Isabela is limited to a fling, but we know she's an optional companion who you don't have to recruit or even meet.

So... I took that tar bath for nothing?

Matter of taste i think; personally i like the smell of tar quite a bit, can't find anything wrong with salt either.
