Salt and Tar is that bad or something
When I lived in Michigan, the summers were hot and humid while the winters were ice cold, so they covered the roads with tar instead of asphalt. During June, my entire neighborhood smelled of it. I recall you could comfortably walk barefoot along it because it was fairly squishy but it always stained the bottom of my feet black.
Unless it's fresh, tar isn't a harsh scent, but I would never consider it the sort of thing you'd want to smell on a lover.crimzontearz wrote...
it SADDENS me.....I do not mind a romance being "easy" to get I just to not want it to become a casual thing, I know an Isabela-romance will be more than capable of depth and even sappiness or at least deep meaning.
but I get the feeling it's just gonna be another casual encounter......groans
Nothing suggests to me that Isabela is limited to a fling, but we know she's an optional companion who you don't have to recruit or even meet.

So... I took that tar bath for nothing?
I decided to wiki tar, and it seems 'wood tar' is considered to have a pleasant scent.
I think it means you now have a pine scent?

The Warden sleeping with someone they just met 5 minutes ago in a seedy tavern, suggesting their love interest join them and then accepting Isabela's suggestion of another one of the Warden's companions (Zevran) joining in says much more about the Warden than it says about Isabela. Remember, Isabela's not the one to initiate any intimacy, and the Warden needs high coercion to convince her to join.
Considering that you can persuade party members that exterminating the Circle mages or the Dalish Elves is the right thing to do, I really don't think convincing a liberal minded woman to engage in sexual acticity with three attractive young people is really something to fault Isabela for.
I'm not. I'm not even saying that it was objectively wrong. I'm just saying that it makes her unattractive as a romance prospect. I don't know about you, but I wouldn't be too thrilled to be with a girl who I know got double teamed in the back of a seedy tavern by strangers.
Edit: Oh, I'm sorry, she got Persuaded to do so. That absolves her of all responsibility.
question: Did you romance Leliana? leliana was more or less the first Isabela in the Dragon Age series. As a bard, she used her womanly wiles to seduce all kinds of men, yet she can fall for you. If you did romance her, you're kinda being a hypocrite, saying that seducing a woman who has sex a lot isn't your choice of a romance, yet you have already done so. That's only if you did. IF.

PLEASE NO. I so hate that character. Sheryl Chee, please tell us Jack Sparrow isn't an inspiration.
Well, they both drink a lot, and wear earrings and bandanas. But I think the similarities end there?
I watched more Firefly and Star Wars (Original Flavor) while writing her plan, rather than Pirates of the Carribean.
they also both enjoy having sex a LOT. so, bandanas, earrings, rum, sex, rum, sex, rum, more rum and sex, throw in some sex, maybe some witty banter, some rum, and to top it off, some more sex and rum and you have yourself a female Jack Sparrow!

Isabela: "Ssssssssshhhh" Turns back to the enemy and walks over to him all slinky like running her hands down her body seductively. The Foe quickly becoming enraptured.
Hawke:
Isabela: When she reaches the enemy she appears to lean in to kiss him all only to drive her dagger up into his stomach snarling as she does, she turns back to a blinking Hawke, and grins licking her lips "Sorry about that...bastard cheated me out of ten sovereigns in a card game a couple of months back
Varric: I love that woman.
That seems to be taking it a bit too far into, uh, psychosis territory.
to quote a status I made on Facebook a while back (one that was liked by many a friend of mine) "We're all ****ed up in our own little ****ed up ways"
Everyone is a little psychotic in some way(s).

That's the point Maria....you may never even "meet" her. I am VERY afraid she might be a watered down romance....I hope not....there is a lot of potential for it to be SO rewarding
Was it possible to miss Leliana btw? Like, not head into that tavern at all and never meet her? If Isabela's romance is a short fling and not a full-blown LI-type romance (that is available for femHawke) I will be so disappointed.
Also, I wish we had some concept art of Isabela. The style of Aveline and Varric's concept arts makes me want to see the Isabela one.

More accurately, I've got this massive centennial collection of Howard's work that I've only barely dented, and I should read it in its entirety. By Crom, I spend too much time on BSN. Must read more Howard.

Howard did set the standard for bardic language in fantasy.
It's a pity that most heroic fantasy today is written with the same rhythms and language as standard, middle-class conversation. Interestingly enough, I've noticed that science fiction authors tailor their words to the setting more than their fantasy counterparts in spite of the genre's aversion to stylistic matters.

Most of what I know of Howard and Conan lore comes from Age of Conan and not anything Howard or any later authors actually wrote in the universe.

Your egsageration is founded on truth tho. Devs are far less likely to flesh out content that is optional
And that is why you know deep inside you are getting a whole new squad in ME3 while everyone else is getting cameos

I will rage like 1000 CoS Sarah Jinstars when that is announced. Retroactively ruin ME2 that will.

And Shorts... one thousand Jinstars? That's a lot of condescension and elitism. It'd be a serious hazard to your health (and to mine upon reading it).

In my gratuitous indulgence into hyperbole, I couldn't think of a better metric. I could have said, "I will become even more of an obnoxious ass hole than usual" - and in hindsight that probably would have been funnier.
