Even I would find a same-sex wedding in a pre-industrialized setting unrealistic. Unless Riviani culture has more than two genders, which would be interesting but probably confuse many gamers.

That said, I support weddings in general if BioWare can spare the zots for it.

Certainly Isabella has already been married once, so her getting married again just makes sense, particularly since her second husband or first wife will be so much better than her first husband . It sounds like a great idea to me!

we do not even know if he was all that bad. Maybe that is a coping mechanism, one of her many masks. Maybe if she allowed herself to remember him as the man she loved for his qualities and not just a greasy bastard she disliked for his flaws she would realize his loss was affected her more than she wanted to

She might have been young. She might have not have had the resources to leave. She might have worried about the repercussions of just leaving (that could be damaging to her family).

She might not have been that bothered by being married to someone she disliked. We know she still managed to have an affair with Zevran, and I assume he wasn't the only one.

Huh - that's a more interesting train of thought than I imagined. I wonder if we'll get the answer in game.

If her name is not actually Isabela perhaps she ditched the family name to escape them in favor of the life she has now.

As for resources, maybe she's always been good at cheating, sleight of hand, and so on. Those would be good skills to have in order to outmaneouver an old life and old connections.

Alistair had all the stamina of a Grey Warden and he probably sucked in bed (no pun intended), anyway. Having no experience and lots of stamina just mean you have more time to bore Isabela to death.
