This is precisely what I was referring to. Ice Queens are typically like what you describe above.

That's not generally what the "ice queen" archetype refers to. An ice queen has a cold demeanor. Isabela seems very friendly and charming.

As I understand it they do get to the physical part as long as there's no emotional attachement involved.

So:

Casual sex with no feelings = good

Attempts to start a relationship = bad


Isabela strikes me as being similar to Zevran. She's fine with casual sex for fun, but mention a serious relationship and she gets nervous.

Isabela's overt similarities to Zevran makes me wonder about the devs' remarks that they tried to do different things with the romances this time. I will be interested to see exactly how they differ in substance from one another, seeing as superficially the romances look fairly similar.

1: isabela is not the archetype ice queen



2: the fact she has issues with emotional attachments but throws herself right into casual sex is what makes her attractive to most. The whole journey to make her into Hawke's woman and not just his(her) sex-buddy.

eh, I was one of them up until the day Lair of the Shadow Broker came out and I could finally reconcile with Liara (the devs really dropped the ball with her in ME2 prior to LOTSB)...



but I have to admit she is an awesome character..and Liz is a GREAT voice actress



if Biuoware allowed to voice someone in DA2 they would have almost doubled their returns LOL

I like Tali herself, she is a good friend to most of my Shepards. Some of her fans grate on my nerves from time to time though. That is the case with some other Bioware companions for me as well, love the characters, the fans... not so much. Luckily most of the fans for the DA2 characters so far (Varric and Isabela in particular) seem to be pretty chill. They don't take themselves too seriously.

While I know it's probably inevitable, I hope they don't release any appearance packs, because it just makes it seem like they made the companion outfits static just for that purpose.

Once the game is released and people start making Isabella blow-up dolls... Then you can claim Talimancer level fanatacism here.

I think this thread would need to generate not only another 900 pages, but also a very different approach to discussing the character in order for comparisons to the infamous Talimancers.
