Question, Izzy fans.
Is it actually confirmed by Bioware that she's available for FemShep too? Or is it just wishful thinking or assumption based on DAO?
I've personally yet to see proof, but I'd appreciate someone posting a link to the proof.
Besides the fact that she's bisexual in DAO, she gave FemHawke the, "If you want company later, I have a room" line in the hour long DA2 showing w/ Q and A by Mike Laidlaw.

i'd say it doesn't need any confirmation as isabela in the live stream showed lady hawke (not FemShep!) sexual interest.

Well, she did flirt with Lady Hawke in the Demo+Chat preview. And she wasn't too discriminating in Origins (

I agree wholeheartedly. But I'm not referring to Isabella specifically. I mean romances in general.
Like in ME2, with Samara. Or ME3 if she's back. There can be a Samara romance without sex.
They don't have to throw it in where it doesn't make sense.

There are people who have casual sex, but then don't immediately jump into the sack with someone they're serious with. Or think they're serious with. Or hope to be serious with.
Isabela clearly has trust issues, what with not trusting the slaving crimelord to show up alone for a duel.
I have to admit, though, that it would be a refreshing change of pace to start the romance with sex then work your way up from there. The relationship could be the reward, not just underwear sex.
Oh, wait, they might have done that with Viconia.

That would be awkward. Mass Effect 3 comes out, you're just playing along, when an honest to goodness water based pirate wench shows up on your spaceship to make out with female Shepard.Maelora wrote...

Oddly enough, you could get Zev up to love w/o having slept with him. I don't think we'll be able to do the same thing with Izzy though.

There is this brazilian romance, Luciola. The title character is a prostitute, but after some time she refuses to have sex with the main character anymore because she want to experiment the other parts of a relationship. Not that I'm implying that Isabela is like a prostitute, obviously, but it's not entirely nonsensical to have a romance this way.
Of course, the main character was a whinny little bastard, so maybe Lúcia was just trolling him.

Uhh...Didn't we get that with Jack/Subject Zero in ME2 if you romanced her?LPPrince wrote...
Matter of fact, here's another idea-
How about a romance scene that has absolutely NOTHING to do with sex? Now THAT would be a refreshing change.
A romance scene of the PC and love interest simply falling asleep together I think would convey the desired effect just fine.

You have to admit, weirder things have happened to Shepard. She'd probably just shrug and welcome her to the crew.
"But I don't want to join your crew!"
"Yeah, but you will."

Maybe. Most folks assumed sex occurred though. It was vague enough that you can decide for yourself.

Need all the help we can get to take down the Reapers.
Now here's a Modern Warfare 2/Mass Effect/Dragon Age reference all wrapped into a meme-
"ISABELLA! TAKE DOWN THAT REAPER WITH YOUR THROWING KNIFE!"

It's like the Morrigan romance? They started out having sex and then she put a stop to it? That doesn't actually strike me as chaste.
However, I still think that makes little to no sense for Isabela. She's not a fallen woman. She is not damaged goods.* She presumably know what love is and doesn't need the PC to show her that a relationship can be more than sexual. That's a narrative that makes sense for a swamp witch who was raised to seduce men, use them, and kill them.
*I hope.

Yeah while it wouldn't work for Isabela it would be nice to see a asexual romance. I was hoping that with Tali if for nothing else the obvious health reasons. Though as we know it didn't end up happening.
Thing is, they made the sex in that romance make sense. It was the culmination of a two-game romance. In ME1, the feelings were there, just hidden. In 2, they finally came out in the open and they shared the intimacy they wanted.
Isabella I think is going to have a ron-romantic sexual romp(ala Jack's renegade romance in ME2) and then have a heartwarming sexual encounter(ala Tali's romance in ME2)

How will romancing Isabella be different as a Hawke or Hawkette?
Leliana had different paths to her romance depending on gender. I wonder if Isabella will have something similar.
Although maybe not, since Leliana was the "good girl" and I think Isabella is one of those good-hearted people that just loves to be mischievous.

This is why I really love the 10-year-span. We can develop that same sense of intimacy in a more realistic fashion. And didn't Mike say too that Izzy's character arch (and I'm assuming romance) was very emotionally charged? Things are really looking good for her romance.
