Good thing is, Isabella's not the type that I can see latching on to someone and caring for unquestionably.
Unless its my future FemHawke, that is.

I've been disenchanted with DA2 since I heard we were playing Shepard instead
of our Warden.
Thanks. I admit I don't actually see it, but that is an entirely separate debate.
Still Femshep in DA would be something to see.

No longer our character, we're just borrowing Bioware's for a while.
I hope I'm wrong. But after ME2, I'm bitter.

Mel is obsessed with the notion that there will be no f/f romances in DA II or that if there is, it will be with an NPC like Kelly instead of Isabela. Given what's been said already, I suspect she's hoping if she constantly suggests Isabela isn't really the f/f option and that BioWare is simply misleading us, a dev will pop in to declare otherwise.Liana Nighthawk wrote...
How did Femshep end up in this thread?
Not that I really object to her being in any thread.

Doesn't take a romance option to establish a character's sexuality. But that's a topic of another debate on another part of the forums about another game.
I don't think Isabella would like us getting off track.

I think if you told Isabela there was a track she ought to be on, she'd get off it just to see what would happen.LPPrince wrote...

My fear, Liana, was that it made it easier for BW to say: 'oh, Hawke is our character, not yours, so he/she can't be gay!'

Not to take this thread off track, I didn't really see the Warden that way either. Aside from a few cosmetic choices, such as the origins, I feel the player was still walking the same path anyway.
I'd prefer a more detailed, character driven story to one forced to be generic in places for the sake of the appearance of choice.

Would you guys find it appealing if she's been with many people, but Hawke is the first person she's truly loved? Not just cared about but she feels that Hawke is her soul mate?
Would that be nice or a bit too cliche?
You mean like Morrigan in DA:O had lovers before, but was never in love until she met the Warden?
Yes, I can see something like that happening with Isabela, except her reasons for avoiding a serious commitment to another person would be different from Morrigan's.
We don't know much about her late husband other then the fact she calls him a "greasy bastard", which seems to indicate it wasn't a happy relationship for her. Maybe that explains why she's not keen on bringing feelings between herself and Hawke?

Quite a cliche; but then pretty much any sort of relationship got done so many times it's quite unavoidable no matter which route they'd pick, i think.Maria Caliban wrote...

It might also be a matter of convenience. As a sailor, she constantly travels. That tends to encourage a more rootless lifestyle because you can go months without returning to someone you care about. It's much easier to get a roll in the hay when you want one and move on the next morning.
You right about that. Yet I have a feeling Isabela's reasons will be a tad bit more complicated. Wouldn't be an interesting story if things were simple.

She's a badass space marine voiced by Jennifer Hale. I can see her stealing Lady Hawke's LIs from right under her.
It would only be a cry for attention, as Shepard's one true love is of course Ladyhawke.

That'd be the best exchange in game, I think.
Isabella: I'm sorry, I'm gay.
Garret: I'm a woman!
Isabella: No, you're not!
Garret: I totally am!
Isabella: I've seen you naked!
Garret: It was a trick of the light!

To be fair, as long as my avatar is my female Warden or female related, people think I'm a woman.
Then I have to say, "Does my screenname look like LPPrincess to you?"
On top of that, I've got long hair, so occasionally someone will see me from only behind me and assume I'm a woman, in which case I turn around with a smile on my face and say, "O HAI THAR" and laugh at their ghastly expression.

Femshep would break Lady Hawke and have to request a new toy.

I think that romancing Isabela can be interesting. Hmm, maybe I'll romance her as a woman, after all, as her and Anders are the only LI that interest me, even in a very marginal way. Snarky Isabela, now.
Thats my game plan as far as romance is concerned. Play a FemHawke, romance Isabella.
