I think the only thing that people really want to change about free-bird isabella is to make her exclusive. In my opinion it isnt too much to ask and doesnt require the complete changing of her personality

Where that true, making her exclusive would probably be her rivalrymance. I'd say personal liberties and value of freedom are very important parts of Isabela's character. Making her exclusive would be hampering said liberty and freedom.

rivalrymance implies contrast, I do not see this particular path bringing out contrast, not the way it was hinted at by the devs at least but I could be wrong.

Symbolysm. She gives me the impression of valuing personal freedom above most things (re: The Castillion "Cargo" she freed). To force her to be exclusive would be to remove a chunk of her own personal freedom.
That's my take on it, anyway. Feel free to disagree.

And it's not "forcing"... As pointed out by David the end of the rivalry path culminates with the rival possibly changing their views recognizing the validity of your point of view. Thus I see Isabela making a choice, " Is Hawke more important than having several lovers?"...which is a completely normal choice that many have to face at one point or another. Recognizing that she has feelings for him and those feelings are more important than nailing whoever strikes her fancy does not sound like forcibly removing part of her personal freedom...not if SHE is making the choice....

I mean it's not like Hawke is going to put her in chains and brand "property of Mike Hawke" on her butt (giggles....sorry could not resist)

Independent of the romance- I take it from the end dialogue in the demo that the friendship path is to immediately sign on to help her out with the relic, while the rivalry path is to try and get her away from her line of work/stop working for Castillon? Cuz that would be awesome and I could totally see my first Hawke that way. Rivals ftw!

 While the new Isabela model is really freakin' hot I still liked the older model more. But I am partial to fair skinned women with red hair. Either way, I suspect that both my male and female Hawkes will get to know Isabela VERY personally.

I fully agree with you. Those who want to change her just want the satisfaction of being able to mold another to their will, even if means taking a free spirit and breaking it. I call it the ultimate power trip. Games are made, among other things, to give us our ultimate power trips, so it's no surprise these things come up, but it won't happen with me. If the game lets me. Once broken, everything that has made her interesting would vanish into thin air, and all that remains is your power over her. You could call it a morality tale of how evil turns all you've gained to ashes.
