I -was- gonna romance Merrill. That was my determination pre-launch.

Several things happened after.

1. I met Merrill. Nice character, great VO, but the fact that she's so... girly (and by that I mean, since when do elves paint their fingers/toes) made me cringe

2. I met Isabela. When they showed the first images of her way back when, she had a serious man chin. They clearly refined her.

3. I heard Isabela. That VO is just sultry >.>

I was going to have a single Hawke, as I was getting tired of the YES BUT WHAT ABOUT THE ROMANCES THE ROMANCES THEY ARE THE MOST IMPORTANT THING IN BIOWARE GAMES EVER and the gnashing of teeth surrounding it.

And then I sort of fell for Isabela. <.<

Shhhhh. Don't tell anyone. Seriously me and my bestfriends and I are like "ISABELAAAA! She is brilliant." "I know, right? She is amazing." That's the extent of our DA2 conversations. Pretty much. We're sad, sad fangirls.

Alright Isabelians, the spousal unit is complaining because in both his games he hasn't been able to recruit Isabela. It's not a bug because I've recruited her in both of mine. Ironies abound. Anyway, as far as I recall, all that needs to happen is you finish Tranquility quest and then go back to the Hanged Man and her cutscene triggers. Is there something else that needs to happen before she appears? Is there a point where you can't recruit her anymore (in Act 1)?

idk, all I remember is going to the Hanged Man in act 1 and seeing her there. I knew I had a far few quests to complete also, so...

AFAIK, all you need to do is recruit Anders and she'll show up.

Perhaps recruiting Merrill? I dunno.

Is it possible that Isabela's extreme claims of promiscuity (putting it nicely) are all for show? She's a pathological liar, after all. Maybe it's just a facade--like a defense mechanism. If you romance her, I think this becomes even more apparent.

It is. It's all part of her charm and facade. From a dialogue with Merrill:

• Merrill: You have many lovers haven't you?
• Isabela: Fewer than some think.

She's definitely no prude, but she doesn't care about what people think of her, so she feels no need to validate or deny rumors of the sort. As she said herself, "They don't know me. I know me."

Anyways I was bored one day so I made a list of people we know she had sex with or can and who she possibly did have sex with.

I know it's a personal preference and doesn't effect my game, but this is one of the reasons I dislike character 'fixes.'

Haha, I wouldn't call myself a Talimancer as I didn't really like any of the others so i thought I had no choice

Isabela is just something else entirely awesome, I actually wanted to romance her. Her personality is great, her party banter is fantastic, her Romance is by far the one I've enjoyed the most in a Bioware game and she's a looker to boot. Sheryl Chee did a fantastic job of writing her.

Isabella is a great character, but her line about having found a great hat store in lowtown or whatever is just all sorts of "...really?"

2. Go to the Hanged Man at night.
3. Isabela!

Oh, the "at night" part might have done it. Also we figured out he may not have talked to Anders again after the Chantry part of his quest.

is it me..or Isabela and Merill seem to have a friendly maybe sister like relationship ? looking at all companions.the two of them, seem to get along the best..Isabela is always seen talking to her...i like this in the game
well i asl olike the Varric/Aveline parts but Merill and Isabela are the best

She expressed concern for Merril during her quest in Act III with lines like "Are you sure about this kitten?"  That's all I can recall.
