Like where in the world she found those faaaabulous boots boobs?

Couldn't resist referencing the change in art style.

Sorry I meant in Dragon Age not, in the entire genre that Bioware has had a hand in making

Un-hardened Leliana strikes me as just that, wanting to bottle your eyelashes and giggling and such.  To each his own, I suppose.

I'm personally keeping my fingers crossed for some Pirates of the Caribbean references with Isabela. Too cliche maybe? Meh, I'd like 'em.

Well, they both drink a lot, and wear earrings and bandanas.

TOO MANY SIMILARITIES, NEXT THING YOU KNOW YOU'LL SAY SHE'S A PIRATE!

I know you're kidding, but in general, I really don't understand the point of reducing a character to the extraordinarily simple, then comparing that to other characters. Unless it's for lulz. They've all got dead spouses, how unoriginal, in a world filled with indiscriminate killing, even, whoda thunk!

Anyway I say this because in the last thread I think Erich brought up a pic of Lightning to compare her to. Comparing her to Lightning is, uh, odd, but I would actually agree that Isabela has a FF vibe. It usually comes from having a bunch of costume elements that don't seem to come from the same era. Her jewelry for example looks like an antique compared to her shirt and boots. It makes sense for her to 1) find cool old things and 2) wear whatever the hell she wants, and also (don't look at me funny for saying this) if you imagine ONLY the jewelry (in a love scene or something) by itself she'd be some epic bejewelled sex goddess. Which she is, of course. But it does create some FF-yness.

She has this awesome "ease of cosplay" thing going on for her and I approve the F out of that.

Also, yay, the thread is sane!

I would expect more Pirates of the Caribbean from Varric honestly, like he escaped a darkspawn attack with sea-turtles & chest hair.

Her earrings and necklace with the skulls is pretty cliche.  Oh and ninjas > pirates. ;)

Sure cosplay would be easy until you get to the jewelry. It'd be a pain in the butt to make if you wanted it accurate-looking.

My outlook on cosplay is that if you can't make it or wear it how it is, make something different but just as good. So I guess I cheat? /dies a little

Edit: for example I was wondering how the boots would stay up on a real person. They wouldn't, but why not make a sexy leather garter to hold them up? Ohhhhyes.

Some people seem to be pretty good at taking plastic/wooden/cardboard junk and turning it into believable looking shiny metal for cosplaying purposes.

I'm so excited about the cosplayability (yeah, I'm like Shakespear, I can make up words) of Isabela. Finally, someone with dark skin and a little busty. Being Filipina, I'm not comfortable cosplaying caucasian characters.

if you're cosplaying as isabela the pirate it doesn't matter if you cheat, it's expected of you to cheat to be a good pirate^_^

A wheeled helm would get in the way of the drawing I think.  Dramatically leaning on the tiller would be neat, but I'm no artist.

Posted Image

Edit: Ships' wheels were a relatively new piece of tech, so it'd probly be more "historically accurate" - obviously this is fiction, to use a tiller too.

Apparently, 'Down with the Sickness' is a song. (Is very late to the thread.)

Does Isabella have a theme song?
