just wondering, what happens in act 2 if you choose Aveline over Izzy at your estate when she tells you about the relic?

Also, handing Izzy over the the Arishok removes her for act 3? I assume it does but i wanted to check

There's a clip of it here.
It's just plain unnatural, in my opinion. Like underwear that never quite sits right. Posted Image

I personally like that they gave you the option. Choosing to stand up for her is so much more meaningful when you're not forcibly railroaded into doing so.

It's the emotional investment. (And those boots)

If I was at all rich I would have had a pair of Izzy boots made to fit by now, who doesn't jump up and cheer when she steps on and over that unfortunate Qunari?

It reminds me of this (though this is not as epic, not as cheer-worthy, and not nearly as sexy as Isabela's entrance).

That actually made me sick to my stomach to watch.

This. The idea of turning her over just doesn't compute. Especially after the entrance which I place in the top 5 best entrances of all time.

Because it's not vintage '77? It's sacrilegious, I know, but that's what popped into my mind during that scene (then it was chased away by curves). Isabela's return was all very Han Solo swooping in on the Death Star and such.

Aw sh*t...sorry for the above. Thought you got a little green on the SW clip. Carry on...

Like I say though, it's the fact you can turn her over that makes not all the more worthwhile. Forcing you to defend her would be meaningless.

I do have to wonder how the Arishok and his personal guard wandered past Meredith, Orsino and the assembled templars on their way out, and why they then burst into the room swords drawn moments later, though.

Am I the only one who almost wanted to cry when Isabela said she thought Hawke cared for her? :crying::crying::crying:

I agree on both counts.

It's also a good screening tool... I can defriend anyone who turned her over.

Templars can't see mages performing magic in front of them. What makes you think they can see Qunari? They probably just thought that the Qunari were just really big guardsmen on patrol.

It was sickening, especially with Hawke trying to be "nice" when talking to her before that.

I mean, Izzy just fought her way to the Viscount's Keep alone to save Hawke's life and fix her mistakes and Hawke just throws her over to the Qunari like a piece of silver.

It's good to have options in the game, but that's not one I could ever force myself to pick. Even if my Hawke's wasn't all that fond of Isabela, she would at least respect her choice to return with the tome enough to stand up to the Arishok.

Heh, this is true. I'm beginning to suspect Tevinter just quickly hammered up "welcome to Minrathous Antiva" signs outside their breathtaking magical city whenever they spotted another Exalted March heading their way, given how apparently easy it is to dupe templars.

Yeah, the picking of nice dialogue lines beforehand made it all worse really. If you choose the aggresive lines the whole thing at least makes sense.

My last run was a rivalry one with Isabela, and even if my Hawke was seriously pissed at Isabela, she pretty much shared Aveline's menatality ("if anyone's gonna kick her ass, it's me"). Turning her over after making up for her mistake was simply too much of a punishement.

It's a good thing that even if you turn her in, Isabela escapes quite quickly. The girl's got skillz. B)

If she is given over to the Arishok, the only mention of her escape is in a codex entry, right? If so, it would have been nice had there been something more robust in game. A nasty letter, or some such "F-you, Hawke" that appears in Act 3. Not that I would have ever played it out to get to that scene. I would just wait for someone braver crueler than me to post a clip on YouTube.

She only came back for Hawke in the first place (or she'd be loooooong gone) and Hawke has to be aware of that...to just turn around and hand her over....:***(

Really?!

Wait so.. does she return in Act 3? If so, what is her reaction when she sees Hawke again?

Oh no, she's gone as a party member, you only learn that she escaped from the Qunari, but she's gone in the game.

The question is, did she seduce Arishok before escaping?

Haha!

I love it. Bioware needs to add that into the game.

Bah, all this talk of betraying Izzy doesn't sit well with me. Going off to read some of
hoorayforicecream's fanfiction to make things better. :wizard:
