I find that Isaballsa's (lol, great name) decision to wear pants ruins the character for me, lol.

Isaballsa in just a thong would be disturbing, if you ask me

This peanut gallery member would beg to differ.

It's probably my gender that urges me to protest against a male Isabela in a thong. I'm pretty satisfied with the "goods" the female 'Bela is offering and I don't want to taint it for myself with pictures that even brain bleach can't destroy

If you say so. Personally, I like a man confident enough to thong it up.:wizard:

I'd be willing to settle for a Speedo. The compromise would be... in the interests of science. Yes, science.

Edit: On a completely unrelated note, although Merrill always strikes me as vaguely jail-bait in the game, Manrill is pretty much bat-nip.

Have fun Chugster.

Hopefully we'll get some new about that story DLC soon, and have more adventures with Isabela.

I like the fact that I helped Isabela get a new ship, since she clearly wanted one badly, but the thought that Castillon may decide to go back on his word and kill her eventually doesn't sit well with me.

Yeah. I mean, people being kidnapped and enslaved is also kinda a bummer, but the idea that Castillon might one day attack one of the greatest duelists in Thedas keeps me asleep at night. He might actually get a hit in before Isabela slits his throat and leaves him bleeding out in a gutter!

With his wealth and influece, he could hire an army of assassins and mercenaries to kill her. Besides, If Isabela was so confident in her chances against Castillon she wouldn't have spent years hunting down that relic for him or enlist Hawke's help.

Don't get me wrong, the girl is really talented but even the best fighter can only handle so much on his own.

This.

My first couple of Hawkes let her have the ship, but later versions whacked Castillon, for the same reason my Wardens whacked Marjolaine.

Cupcake art is delicious.

I'm afraid to ask this but if isabela says to Merrill "there is something between you and hawke," and that whole party banter takes place does that mean my romance with isabela is bugged again?

My first game I played the romance was bugged because I slept with Merrill, and now I decided to play again and make sure it didn't happen, though that banter makes me think I failed again.

I decided to sleep with Merrill before ever talking with isabela in act 2. Actually I slept with everyone before talking to her haha. After I had my fun with everyone else I talked to her and romanced her, because I want her to be the person I "love," my true romance. I figured this plan would work...

Anyway, another strange thing is that fenris came to comfort me after mommy died. Even though by then isabela was the only one I was with. So I don't know what happened, but my plan better have worked, if not then curse this game for being anti-promiscuous. Infect my game with bugs? What are you saying bioware? Hmm better not be what I'm thinking hehe. I'm sorry, Im just a little upset that I may have to play all over again.

Don't touch Merrill!
As soon as you two... "polish her eluvian" Merrill overwrites everthing else. No turning back! Merill and Anders are romantic juggernauts, who will destroy every other potential romances you may want to have.

I know, and it's a real shame. My game had such an amazing story. But from what i have learned, they only end romances that have started, so that's why i waited with isabela. And im going to do zevran's quest to see if i can tell her no, though i dont really want to say no, but i'll just do it for a test. After the test though i want to see if zevran deserves his reputation haha. But i think i may be okay because i did get the isabela romance codex.

I tried to stay with the other romance options but they all bored me. For some reason isabela is my favorite character in the game. She seems like someone who would be fun to hangout with. So Isabela was right, she always proves them wrong. Posted Image

I know!  My first Hawke was head-over-heels for Fenris, but when Isabela showed up with the relic, she just stole the show.  When she offered Hawke the chance to go pirating with her in Act 3, Hawke was like, "Hells yes!"

You'd think so, but that's not the case. From what I understand how the variables work, it isn't the act of performing the horizontal blood magic ritual with Merrill that shuts down the romance for Isabela (and Fenris), but Isabela's script itself. I believe it just checks to see if you've started the Merrill or Anders romance flag when you reach her important points and shuts itself off when she's determining whether to continue with Hawke.

Indeed. Isabela pretty much slapped me, threw me down, sat on me, pointed me at the word processor and commanded me to write. I've never written fan fiction before this. Well, not anything I let anybody see anyway. :?

Of course. I'm merely trying to spread the wisdom of the Isabela romance FAQ

Update: It seems that everything is fine in my game, i was able to do the worse thing you can possibly do to isabela, have her turn down zevran. Even though she said she had better so maybe not. "I love it when a plan works out" - Hawke.

And definitely, i like people who are funny and dont take life too seriously, the only thing i dislike about her is i dont know if she can be trusted. Varric in friendly concern says something like she may stab you in the back and leave you. But by the end of the game i dont think that is a problem anymore, she seems to be as loyal as anyone else.

@HopeVessel: Or more loyal, she's gone through a complete change of heart to support you on your quest for 'some principle or another'. Nobody would make that sort of effort/sacrifice unless they truly meant to stick with you for a long amount of time...

oooh that last scene before the big old fight...it sends me all a quiver, Isabela's lines are just spot on in delivery especially when you take the bottom response and she says 'Don't let me down now, don't you dare!"

Trusted in what way?  I sort of felt that her returning the relic represented a turning point for her.  Then when she agrees to withhold the pirate booty from Zevran, that can be taken as a willingness to commit to monogamy with Hawke (subject to interpretation, I suppose).

I loved her reaction when Hawke decides to let her have the relic, where she basically said that she was not accustomed to anyone being on her side.  I felt that she really responded to Hawke's loyalty to her, and will return it in spades.

Oh, i don't really care about who she sleeps with, as long as she tells me first, and i join with her haha. Actually i agree with everything you said, she does change a lot, and that's one of the reasons I like her so much. By trust I was mostly talking about honesty, and mostly referring to before the relic scene. I was going to say she was more loyal as well, but i think varric will always be the most loyal. Besides him though, yes more loyal.

Who would have thought that the hanged man contains the most loyal people. There must be something in those drinks.

I always took Varric's statement to foreshadow what she does at the end of Act 2. She does "betray" Hawke, but then she (most likely, if Hawke's romancing her) comes back. And after that, she's never less than genuine with Hawke about anything besides her feelings (which continue to be so cute in how she plays both the internal vulnerability and external bravado).

Hawke even makes a joke about it at the end... "Shouldn't you be halfway to Tevinter by now?"

Wouldn't that burn, what with all the salty spray? Maybe he used some Nair of the Caribbean.

Given Isabela has no armpit hair, it makes sense for her spear counterpoint to have access to the same materials.
