I'd missed that part, as you and WKW mentioned. I'm not sure what the Qunari have to do with it though... I suppose it's because the relics are also from Par Vollen too? We'll have to see. It's interesting.

Bioware didn't say what role the Qunari play in MotA. It might explain how some of their relics ended up in orlesian hands, but we'll need to wait and see for that one.

I do wonder what Isabela's reaction will be when she finds out she got herself into another mess because of some qunari relic..

Saw the short intro movie Mike showed. Looks like Izzy is excited at the prospect of robbing an orlesian baron. Oh, and Mike said Isabela (and possibly other companions, like Carver) might flirt with Tallis.

Sleeping with Isabela won't affect a Merrill or Anders romance. It will stop a Fenris romance, unless you don't activate the romance until after sleeping with Isabela.

Hmm... I must have done something wrong. I attempted to romance Fenris after Isabela, and he said no. After "A Bitter Pill" when I told him not to go he said, "It'd be better if I left" or something to that extent. Oh, well, guess I'm stuck with Isabela again.

Fenris is finicky. Even when you do everything right, he sometimes locks you out for having dallied with Izzy (or dallied and dumped the other two).

Also, you need to do both Bitter Pill and QB to trigger it. Which one he'll sleep with you after depends on which one you did second.

And to bring it back around to the actual topic of the thread, speaking of Fenris... Fenris fans have much to say on the issue of the Fenris/Isabela flirtation that starts up if you don't romance either of them, but I'm not sure I've ever heard the Isabela fan perspective. I mean, I know mine - I don't think they're ultimately compatible, or "good" for each other the way that Hawke is genuinely good for either of them, but I don't think they're particularly in a relationship either, so I'm ultimately left with "I'm glad my friends are having fun" - but I'm hardly a consensus.

It's pretty much as you say. Fenris is a whole ball of emotional issues. Isabela without Hawke isn't willing to touch the feelings with a ten foot pole. To Isabela, Fenris (like a Hawke that doesn't pursue her) is a fun lay who's easy on the eyes and nothing more. With Hawke she may consider what might have been, but definitely not with Fenris.

I'm looking at the one banter that Isabela has with Merrill for this - where Merrill asks if Isabela will leave Kirkwall someday. The only thing that can possibly change is Isabela's desire to convince a certain someone to come away with her. Even close friends like Merrill are essentially pushed aside for her desire to return to the high seas.

Definately that scene. I love Isabela then; "There are other people that care about you, like... Aveline." In my head canon, that's the first time Isabela stays at the estate with Hawke all night, at Hawke's request of course.

The scene always makes me want to listen to Solomon Burke 'Cry to Me', since I can imagine Isabela offering to distract Hawke in the only way she thinks she knows how *nudge nudge*. Yeah, I'm going to go listen to that song now.

And thank the maker for BagofLimbs, his Izy/Hawke art is always beautiful!

@Nyxia: thank goodness it's not just me. I know it's a tiny, tiny detail but if you are a fan of someone/something, at least know how to spell names. I remember being at a Collectormania to meet Natalia Tena and someone called her Natalie, oh well I was front of the queue to meet her and had to wait for her to arrive

I don't understand why people keep shortening her name to 'Bela. Especially fanfic writers, in their work. Nobody ever refers to her by anything but her full name.

Argh, I don't seem to get rid of Isabela. When I started a new game I decided that Isabela will not be in my group. It went fine until somewhere in act 2 she was part of my group, yet again. I don't know how she does it... tsk tsk.
