Okay, "gangbang" is also not on the table for terms to be used during civil discourse. I shouldn't have to make a list of words that are unacceptable here, and I'm not going to. Use common sense. That's your only warning.

Jesus. Can we use the word sex at least? Or are we going to have to start referring to it as "taking the skin boat to tuna town" or whatnot at some point? This is the 21st century. How many more perfectly legitimate words are we going to ban because they may be D-I-R-T-Y to some? :P

i think gaider said once he doesnt want people to feel apathy for characters, yo either like them or hate them.

he clearly succeeded on both fronts.

i'm curious though, i really want to know about where isabela stands on the topics of magic (wether it should be used or contained), on the qunari and the qun (since they've occupied rivain for a while)

The amount of idealistic, 'romantic", somewhat prudish people on here is quite shocking IMO

It's not shocking.  Rescuing the virtuous princess in the castle and all that is pretty standard RPG stuff.  Still, it'd be nice to see the fanbase grow along with the genre.

OT: Anyone have a link to somewhere that explains the extent of Qunari occupied/owned territory?

I also stated that I find it odd why the chose her off all people to develop into a romance.

Because she wasn't chosen "out of all people."    And again, some people like uninhibited women.  Are their preferences less valid than yours?

In any case, it's hardly all there is to her character.

look at how many people liked morrigan, she was uninhibited in some ways

Fine..You find Isabela seedy and unattractive. We get that.

I find her intriguing. I wonder if we meet up with her on Llomeryn, the island south of Rivain. By it's description on the interactive map, it seems like the place a pirate would go to on occasion.

Use classier word, like Ménage à trois / quatre.

Here I'll help you out: if the word you're using is one commonly found in a two-line porn descriptor, don't use it.

You'd think these things would be obvious.

She was an uncivilized barbarian, by all accounts.  She lived in a shack in the woods with her abomination mother thing.  It's hard to be bound by the conventions of a society you're not a part of.

...and I'm a Morrigan fan.

I'm pretty sure that's not the argument being made. The argument is that Isabela isn't the easiest of lays. She might be up for the adventure, but she's not going to let just anyone into her bed, especially when she probably has to worry about a dagger in the back often. The Warden is charming. Charm goes a long way, but only if you're open to the idea from the start. But again, being open to the idea doesn't mean you jump at every chance.

Charming or not -- 3 strangers after a 5 minute conversation? That says something about her. Not every, and I would wager hardly any, woman can be persuaded to something like that that quickly unless she's looking for it herself. Regardless of how charming the guy is.

Not three strangers.  She knew Zevran from before.

But see, Isabela is far more than just that scene.  She is an amazing fighter -- the best duelist.  She commands the respect of her crew.  She's not in the brothel for herself, but for her men (so it's not like she's providing them release).  The warden is extraordinary -- and IS one of the legendary Gray Wardens, who is going to be saving the world.

Not everyone finds this as offensive as you do.

I personally am glad that they're including her.

I laid out my reasons for why she is clearly promiscuous several times. I also stated that I find it odd why the chose her off all people to develop into a romance. Not sure what more I can add other than refer you to my previous posts.

Yes, you have said you find it odd several times. And David has responded to you at least once saying that we've never managed to please everyone with a love interest. Isabela is no different. Don't like her? Fine, don't romance her. In fact, I believe I mentioned that you don't have to talk to her if you don't want to. But coming on here and repeatedly saying that you find our decision to bring her back odd accomplishes... what exactly? We like Isabela and we wanted to explore her character a bit more. Whether you like it or not, she's here to stay.

You know.. If the situation were reversed and Isabela were Ricardo or something, he would be considered debonair and swarthy. Isabela is just promiscuous and unworthy of attention.

Isabela is the Samantha of Dragon Age (Yeah, I watched Sex and the City. Go away.) and isn't afraid of her own sexuality.

I've had this feeling for awhile but I like to give people the benefit of the doubt.

how about this? would you like isabela's crew to also be fleshed out if possible?

kirkwall has a port and since each character gets his/her section of the city to be in, how about if isabela's it's her ship's deck along with her crew which would interact in some of our conversations as well.

OT: And they end up in Kirkwall during the course of DA:2?  They are bold.  Either they advance directly from Rivain or have a tremendous navy.  Either course would undoubtedly scare the crap out of the rest of the region.

i remember the scene where the engineers in ME2 that were in the same location as tali invited you to a card game, how about something similar in DA2 where isabela's crew invites you to have a drink, maybe even a drinking competition like the one alistair told of in origins.

it's not their first time trying to invade kirkwall so you have to admire their persistence.
