Is this thread still alive? Good. That's reason enough to share a fan song I wrote.
Wait, don't go! Though I'm no lyricist, it's not that bad I promise!
So, Mass Effect 2 saw Mordin sing a Salarian version of Modern Major General from Gilbert & Sullivan's Pirates of Penzance. Then he serenaded the Krogan Queen with a modified version of Pirate King, from the same play. With that said, you don't need to be very clever to see where I'm going with this.
I wrote a version of Pirate King in celebration of Dragon Age's favorite pirate queen. It's inspired by the Krogan Queen song as well as the Kevin Kline version and the one from The Pirate Movie. Here it is:
Oh, better to die to Antivan Crows,
And immortalized in a bard’s prose,
Than play a sanctimonious part
With a pirate head and a pirate heart.
Away as a convert to the Qun go you,
To be a slave to their point-of-view.
But I’ll heed calls from the Eastern Seas,
And live and die a Pirate Queen!
For I am a Pirate Queen!
(You are!)
(Hurrah for the Pirate Queen!)
And it is, it is a glorious thing
To be a Pirate Queen!
For I am a Pirate Queen!
(You are!)
(Hurrah for the Pirate Queen!)
And it is, it is a glorious thing
To be a Pirate Queen!
It is!
Hurrah for the Pirate Queen!
Hurrah for the Pirate Queen!
When sails are set and I seek my prey,
I conquer all in a royal way.
The sailors yield and their ships go down,
Or is it the other way around?
But kings and emperors on gilded thrones,
If they want their crowns to be their own,
Must manage somehow to get through
More dirty work than ever I do!
