Plus why would you even want to be the XO?  They do all the work, the captain gets all the glory.

Pirating is awesome. Not in the modern sense of the word but real pirates.

Well I figure we'll be getting plenty of glory already by becoming Champion of Kirkwall, right?

Oh, and I meant "first mate" in a more bawdy sense, really.

I'm suspecting something happens to her crew / ship, I heavily doubt she'd settle down for 10 years. Being a pirate and all.

Isabela will make up for it in the night.

Saul Tigh was a pretty bad--- XO on the Galactica! Admittedly, he and Admiral Adama were not pirates however. :P

For you, Isabela thread! An Isabela morph. Obviously I can't put her hairstyle or jewelry or piercing on her, and I couldn't put a stronger eyebrow on her because A. I can't make my own face textures and B. the other eyebrow options just look weird. But I like it anyway. Much better than regular Origins Isabela, I think.

Oh and I used her actual facemorph as a starting point.

She's meant to resemble this Isabela:

Tigh: "You make it look easy."
Adama: "Now you know, that's not true."

Anyway, I'm more of a pirate-hunter than a pirate, in terms of what kind of game I'd want to play/crew I'd want to be on.  The history buff in me knows that real pirates were terrifyingly vicious, the black flag was more than just a trademark, it was a frightening sight to see.  No quarter would be given, none would be taken.  It would be a fight to the bloody death, as pirates knew they faced the noose if they failed to win, and couldn't afford to take prisoners themselves.  Nasty business, piracy, then and now.   They would make for very scary villains in a Age of Sail action RPG centered around a Jack Aubrey or Horatio Hornblower-type protagonist that rises through the ranks to be a dashing Captain during the Napoleonic Wars!  Me and the five other people who buy it would have a blast.

Nice work!  Though she resembles my grandmother - a native Italian with many incredible World War II stories to tell, such as when she was elected by her class to personally hand flowers to Mussolini - in her youth which is difficult to process.  I'm trying to channel it into thinking that Isabela is therefore just as good a cook.

actually to rephrase my previous post i can see two themes working for isabela, a mix between these two would be perfect (to me a least).

the first is the i posted before, tavern brawl from dragon age itself

and the other is pirate isle from Baldur's gate

I'll still be unable to romance Isabela, due to her looking exactly like my aunt, but I'm warming up to the idea of the character. The more I think about it, the more I like it.

Still no romance, though.

Would your aunt happen to have a phone number ?Posted Image

I wonder if we'll have to "dispose of" her first mate Casivir if we want to be her real first mate.

She doesn't have to settle down. She could set sail at the beginning of the time jump and return at the end.

How in the world is real pirating awesome? I mean, if you were sitting at a red light when someone broke into your car, murdered you, and drove off, would your last thought be how 'cool' your killer is?

I think that's why he said "not in the modern sense of the word". Personally I don't think pirates from the past centuries were any less fierce, but I can see the point he wants to make.

I assumed by 'modern sense of the word' he meant people who illegally download music, videos, and software.

i think what dave meant is that the "fantasy" concept of pirating is awesome, as in being a swashbuckling buccaneer.
isabela, han solo (smuggler) and jack sparrow are a few of such characters that evoke that concept.

This is what I thought too. Instantly thought about how cool those Somolian pirates must have felt getting blown away by snipers.

Poor Dave. He thought 'real pirates are awesome' would be a safe comment on a thread about a pirate love interest.
