Next up, a debate rages after someone gets an idea to praise hedonism.
Actually, it would be praising robbery and murder.
Well!

Look, let's just say this and be done with it:
1) The idea of 17th century piracy is awesome and looks like a lot of fun.
2) The realities of 17th century piracy are terrifying and brutal.
yea the british loved displaying the corpses of pirates on their docks

There's a lot we could get into but it'd be just as off topic as my post. Posts can go off topic, but let's not drag the entire thread there permanently.

Wouldn't it be Isabela-esque to derail this thread?

For the folks that see empowered and equal portrayals of females as a positive thing, you really need to let go of the stigma attached to these words that were once seen as insults. Otherwise the stigma, the judgments and the negative connotations of the behavior never go away. And these roles will never be seen in a truly positive way. You only add to the problem by getting insulted by it.
I'll say this once and once only: you are not in a position to tell someone that they should "let go" of the stigma attached to those words. They are charged for a reason, and that's because they've been historically used as derogratory insults. Telling a woman that she shouldn't be offended by the word "sl*t" because it's factual would be like telling a black person that they shouldn't be offended by the n-word or a gay person that they shouldn't be offended by the f-word. After all, aren't those words just descriptions for something that is true?
Words have power. And misogyny has no place on these forums-- and pretending it isn't misogyny reeks of male privilege. As I've said, Isabela is a fictional character who's not about to be insulted by anything you say, but her gender is very real and you (and others on these threads) need to take this into consideration when you start casually tossing around such words.
Characters in the game (and indeed your own PC) can take various attitudes towards Isabela's sexual proclivities-- but that's in the game. In real life and on these forums you will need to moderate what you say out of respect for your fellow posters or we will need to step in and moderate it for you. That's why these discussions keep getting closed, and pretty soon it'll lead to people being disinvited from these forums if they don't know how to conduct themselves in public.
And that's it. Thanks for your attention.

how about a little speculation on isabela's crew?
how do you imagine them, as in names/appearance/behaviours
in short, what would be your ideal crew for isabela?
Bruddajakka wrote...
She actually says the reason she's at the Pearl is because of her men, and I kind of got the impression she inherited the crew along with the ship so there was history there before she became Captain.

If romances are supposed to be complicated, how is it going to work with Isabela?
