Morrigan. She and the ogre were the face of the game.

This was actually the first non-scenery concept art we got.



Notice the scar on the ogre's chest. That's where his heart was removed.

im just curious how many LI's will be in DA2.

i'm guessing as far as party members go, 2 women and 2 men as LI much like in origins ( leliana, morrigan, alistair, zevran)

She WAS talking about advertisement. Morrigan and Ogres represented DA:O a long time before the game came out.

This confused me initially because I thought Morrigan was the Ogre in the background who could shapeshift into human form.

Much, much later. Like five months before the game shipped. Morrigan was introduced as artwork, Alistiar in one of the trailers (He says, "And I was going to name one of my children after you -- the grumpy one!") and then he got his own trailer.

Edit: Actually, he *first* appeared in a gameplay video for Tower of Ostigar where we first see mage combos, the fight against the ogre, and the slow-mo deathblow (which he delivers). We just had no idea who he was then.

Not necessarily -- some characters tend to be disliked or at least unpopular no matter how much time passes. Jacob, Wynne or the Awakening Oghren come to mind, to name a few. Since we know nothing about Isabela can't really tell how well she fares.

noone said anything yet, that i know of.  people are going by what we saw in the pearl, i guess.

could be, but with the redoing her character and making her the advertised li for male hawke they can forget that ever happen. idk.  but unlike morrigan she is a completely optional companion.  i hope she is though for all genders to enjoy her romance.

Morrigan was also optional. You could tell her to gtfo immediately after leaving Lothering.

but she was part of the plot.  isabela just hangs in a tavern, that you prolly dont even have to go to.

if she is the bi option in DA2 i prolly still romance as a male just becaus thats my personal preference.

But you couldn't avoid talking to Morrigan. You still had to spend some time with her in your party, whereas they said you don't even have to talk to Isabela, ever, if you don't want to.

I read it earlier and I swear it was a bit different, I think it mentioned her being part of an Armada.
