Read this (NSFW), then go back a page and read the conversation again.

That's not what Hawke expects, romancing her.

1) She's a pirate, and thus must have some form of wooden leg.
2) She's a rogue, and thus enjoys doing it from behind.

Good news everyone, I've just won a saving throw against being pedantic over the factual accuracy of this statement.  Good thing too, that would have been annoying for everyone involved.

What would happen if Hawke is a rogue?

The fabric of reality would warp. Never romance Isabela with a rogue Hawke.

I was thinking more like, was she cheating on her husband with Zevran?  Would she consider Zevran an ex or just an elf she had a tumble with.

Not an ex. Isabela is very fond of Zevran, and sees him as that cute elf that she's had a fling with a couple times. She probably believes that they could become very good friends and always means to look him up whenever she's in Antiva, but never quite manages to do so. There's always something else more important to attend to and circumstances always get in the way. But when they do meet, she's happy to see him.

Oh. very, very interesting.  Does that mean they meet a few times outside of seeing her reunion with Zev in the Pearl? So it's like one of those movies where the guy returns home, and looks up a girl he knew in high school, but vice versa?

Notice that he doesn't object to the second statement at all.

They would both go into stealth and whomever manages to make a sneak attack first gets to be on top that night.

He's a history nerd, the second one is less interesting to him.

What do you mean?  It wasn't a clever reference to how Rogues backstab?

Pretty much.  Aldous Huxley was spot on, sadly.

Thanks to you lot I've now got a mental image of Lady Hawke, and Isabela out for a night on the town, and deciding to randomly "ambush" some cute guy for a little fun.

This is a triumph. I'm making a note here: HUGE SUCCESS.

"An intellectual is a person who has discovered something more interesting than sex." - source.

He might have literally meant that he'd rather read a textbook than have sex.  I have no idea.  But in my case I'd rather talk about history than talk about sex.  I realize this is odd, hence why I labeled the statement as sad.  Still, it'd be worse to deny my own nature.

Nothing sad about finding history talk more interesting than talking sex. Now, if you'd rather talk about history than have sex...

I wouldn't label that "sad."  Some people are asexual.

In any case, it's off topic anyway. Suffice to say that if I was a writer I would not be the one they asked to write Isabela.

I'd be the guy clutching the lore bible and constantly scribbling notes in its margins.

They really should release a Codex or some sort of lorebook. Or actually update their Tome of Knowledge page. The wikias are great, but I am not liking the new changes to the whole wikia site.

Looking forward to seeing Isabela ingame!

I prefer Henry Louis Mencken:

"Life without sex might be safer but it would be unbearably dull. It is the sex instinct which makes women seem beautiful, which they are once in a blue moon, and men seem wise and brave, which they never are at all. Throttle it, denaturalize it, take it away, and human existence would be reduced to the prosaic, laborious, boresome, imbecile level of life in an anthill."

But then again, I am apparently not an intellectual.

What would happen if Hawke is a rogue?

A night-long session of backflips to get in position behind the other person, with neither resolution nor climax. Literally.
