Actually, one of the strongest female characters in the game is one of the most universally hated. I'm gonna have people guess who I mean! This will be fun.

Anora or Morrigan. I have a crush on Anora.

Though the third most universally hated is probably Lady TEGAAAAAAAAAHHHHNN!

Yeah Seriously..

Morrigan was my favorite out of the 2 manipulative B's

It's about your definition of "hopeless romantic", not being a romantic at all. I personally don't think suicide is romantic. In a real setting, I wouldn't be charmed if my sister killed herself over her boyfriend.

This is story time, people. Alice in Wonderland, Repunzel, white knight vs black knight, good vs evil, fairly tale endings and tragic romance. Nothing here applies to real life. At all.

I mean, we're talking about this in a thread that's about a pirate woman that is happy her husband was murdered and sleeps indiscriminately with men, women, elves and people who drink monster blood. All at once. Realism has no place here.

You think suicide is romantic. I do not. I think we should drop it, because the subject grates on my nerves.

Urgh. If only the blood ritual wasn't the only way to kill her. >_>

Me neither. She is strong because she follows no ones beliefs but her own. She is no ones puppet. She relies on no one else. She is a survivor. That is why I find her to be strong.

Edit+ She also has a brain.

If you're going to look at all women in the game indiscriminately, Flemeth is definitely the strongest. Not "good." But strongest. Wyne may be up there with her too, though. Wyne literally faces death stoically and chooses to spend her last days fighting. Hard to say.

Wow... in a group otherwise composed of women I seem to be the only hopeless romantic....

I'm a hopeless romantic.

If I died, I'd want my girlfriend to morn but move on. I'd want her to remember me fondly but still live her life to the fullest. To find someone else to love, to enjoy herself, and to only die when she's accumulated a ton of gray hairs, wrinckles, and years under her belt.

You were horrified when you first read, "Leliana kills herself." Go with your first instinct.

Not even a question really of Flemeth's strength. I hope to god they don't weaken her character. If BW does I will cry. :crying:

You seriously can't separate your emotions from the discussion? We're talking about stories. It's make believe. What I say about a story is not what I think in real life. There's lots of posts in the beginning of this thread where I talk about not likeing Isabela's new face. Truth be told I have been in love with girls in real life that had similar facial structures. It's the separation between fantasy and what you actually value in real life. They are not the same thing.

I don't think suicide is romantic.

Let me say that again to make sure it's clear. I don't think suicide is romantic.

Flemeth is of course the best example.  Now, let's come up with a strong female character in Dragon Age that is unequivocally one of the "good guys gals."

/thinking

I have trouble thinking of anyone in Dragon Age who is unequivocally one of the 'good guys.'

However, the elven first for the Dalish was seemed quite good.

Well, unequivocally one of the relative good guys. That's bordering on an oyxmoron but I think I got the idea across.

Wyne. She chooses to spend what's left of her life fighting for a good cause. She mentors you through making decision needed to see that cause through with as little suffering as possible. Wyne is just made of win.

She's also preachy and judgemental and decides to try and kill you all over Morrigan. Also, an abomination.

Ser Cauthrien. And she's also the strongest. I'm pretty sure she could two destroy Flemeth in her dragon form.

And before you say it: No, I'm not listening.

I didn't actually come up with one.  Lanaya is a good one too.

People would dispute her goodness I think.  Not me, but I imagine plenty of people.

It seems that everyone does weird [feces] in this game at some point or another. Being judgmental, well she always does what she thinks is good. Judgmental is not always a bad thing. Being an abomination? Well she and I talked about that. I reasured that abominations are abominations because they lose control and become forces of death and destructions. She is no abominaion.

She even tries to tell the Guardian he's wrong. The woman thinks she's a freaking saint.

On one hand she is all "Mages and priests should get along and the Circle is necessary" on the other she's all "I think I enjoy not being in the Circle, I'll just never go back but keeping telling other mages they should stay there."

Over Morrigan? I can't recall this scenario, particularly.

But she does try to kill you no less than three times in the game--with a cut forth time, no less! Why, Wynne, is it any wonder I love you so much? Preach to me some more about being a part of an Order you've never been in, please!

I prefer Anora over an 'unequivocally' good character. The only way to be unequivocally good in Thedas is to never have to make a difficult decision.

I'd say she's more of a lawful neutral.

Wynne would be like. . .Lawful good on old D&D set ups, wouldn't she. It's probably her, as most people who tend to hate her liked Morrigan, which is sadly a majority of the posters here.

Well no one is perfect. But she's only even allowed out of the ciricle because she's already done her time there and earned the trust. They were going to make her first enchanter, remember? You act like she's running away like an apostate.
