I feel like "Don't Stop Believing" by Journey would sum up Isabela's romance with Hawke

Just a city boy born & raised south of Lothering
He took a mignight boat going any where

It doesn't rhyme, I post more if I can get it to rhyme better

Upsetting shorts?

It's a reference to a running joke in Mystery Science Theater 3000 (also the source of my signature image but not the quote below it, which is from Yes, Minister).

In MST3K, the characters make fun of terrible movies.  In both bad Japanese dubbed films and cheesy 1950s camp films, characters ranging from small Japanese children and absurd leading men like John Agar have a tendency to wear tiny, tiny, "upsetting" - to the person looking at them - shorts.

Yet David Gaider calls me "Angry Pants."

Before everyone feeds the obvious troll, what is smooth, vibrates, and sounds like callous?

I don't remember that joke. Joel or Mike?

I assumed it was referring to "phallus" which doesn't typically vibrate, but putting two and two together I think I know what the poster was referring to.

Pretty sure he was just doing it to annoy me.  I feigned anger so he kept it up.

I think the AngryPants thing started after Shorts got into a few heated debates that DG was somewhat moderating, somewhat participating in himself. Can't remember the thread it originated in but there was much discussion about what to call Shorts (well Upsettingshorts, but down here we like to shorten names and that's my own version).

I thought 'phallus' as well, but that makes no sense. Isabella couldn't give it, it's doesn't vibrate, and I well.. I suppose it would depend on what you mean by smooth.

She's probably referring to something specific that I'm not getting.

Isabela is not a good long-term romance in the game. You know she's going to stab you in the back at some point. And she's like the doorknob of Thedas, everyone's had a turn. Do you really want to romance a girl like that? If you do, more power to ya. But beauty can only take Isabela so far

It could happen. Take a carved marble phallus, enchant it with an earthquake spell (magnitude depending on how the lady likes it) and there you go.

One of the great and snazzy items found in the underground merchant shop, "Palace of Pleasure". (said like Alistair)

It was the one where I tried to apply labels to the various groups of fanbases on the forum. Reactionary for people who wanted to return to BG, Conservative for those who wanted DA2 to be like DAO, Liberal for those who liked Mass Effect inspired changes, Radical for people who wanted DA2 to innovate even further beyond the established scope of RPGs.

He was actually more or less supportive of the idea, the first time he brought up AngryPants was to explain and defend my arguments as they, quite predictably, raised a stir.

What evidence do you have that she is going to stab you in the back?  She doesn't think long term enough to plan a betrayal.

It was actually a vigorous disagreement between AngryPants and I. I don't remember specifically what about, anymore.

I just assumed it was a phallus-shaped vibrator.. as opposed to you know, a non-phallus shaped one.

Seriously, how do you know? And if she does, it could be a really great dramatic moment in the story especially if you're romantically involved. Mmmmm, delicious conflict.

Some people don't value others on the basis of their sexual activity, anyway.

reposting known info about isabela to get back on topic:

Name: Isabela
Gender: Female
age: unknown (supposedly late twenties, early thirties)
Voice actor: unknown (similar voice to the previous VA who acted out isabela in origins who also voiced anora.)
hobbies:drinking, sailing
inspiration for character's creation: Firefly and star wars (the originals), namely the characters Malcolm Reynolds and Han Solo.

The Felicisima Armada is not without its female captains, and among them Isabela is among the most notorious. Once captain of the "Siren's Call", shortly after the Blight ended her ship was caught in a storm in the Waking Sea. It was destroyed, and Isabela washed ashore at the Wounded Coast, feeling lucky to have escaped with her life. Now she's stranded in the Free Marches, spending most of her time in the Hanged Man tavern while she attempts to find another ship to command so she can rejoin the Armada. Those who speak to her in the tavern will likely get a story of her adventures in Rivain when she was very young, or the years she spent as a sailor in Antiva, or even the time she spent masquerading as a priestess aboard an Imperial freighter... how many of these tales are true is anyone's guess, and Isabela's laughing smirk tells them that she doesn't care what they think. She's a pirate and will one day be again, and all someone really needs to know is that when Isabela's dagger is at their throat they can let her do all the talking.

Note: Isabela is not part of the Felicisima Armada. She is familiar with and has worked with people from the Armada, but would not consider herself one of them. The Armada is Antivan.

"I win because I cheat, Kitten. I thought that was obvious."Isabela is the pirate scourge of two coastlines, four nations, and countless tavern floors. She's equally skilled with dagger and insult, and it's hard to know which cuts deeper. It's rare to see her in one place for long, but with her ship reduced to timbers, Isabela's had to content herself with whatever bounty Kirkwall has to offer. And that means no end of headaches for the rich and foolish, and no end of amusement for her. She's as desired as she is feared, which is to say, a lot and often. Fall on her blade, or at her feet—a win is a win, in her book. Shipwrecked, hounded, Isabela hasn't decided if she's cornered yet. She's having too much fun.
