I wouldn't mind if they just replaced my disc with a US one, the DLC would all be on the disc anyway.

Fernando. Can you please let us know if the download is going to be the only option and the people without internet will have to go without or are they working on another way? Im quite patient and can wait.Theres more than one psn id and ps3 being used in my home and dont like the idea of rto being locked to one account. Cheers for the updates by the way

I haven't heard from EA Europe about a re-print, but even if they go ahead with it that will take weeks (likely new year).  I mentioned it in a couple other posts but sadly, given the nature of this issue, we're basically looking at something akin to a critical bug that would require a patch to fix - there just is not another way to deliver a fix (the content) in any reasonable timeframe.  So the download is the only option.

However, I will definitely communicate out if we hear that a re-print is being done and rough date.

Thanks. That would be good. A main point of this edition - in my view - is to have a complete, physical edition, which is valuable for collectors and/or people who dislike DLC -- not to mention those without a connected console.

In the meantime, it would be good to push RTO as patch/update (if technically possible) on PSN for the rest of us. It's much better alternative to forcing people who bought the game to contact customer support individually.

Yeah but just think, when you come to sell it , you can label it as the 'famous first print of the ultimate edition with missing dlc! Rare and hard to find'
Especially when they print another batch of discs for it the first print will be a proper colectors item! haha

Fernando has already stated that because PS3 apparently counts the UE as a brand new game, it says 1.01 instead of 1.06 like the standard edition. Rest assured it has all fixes up through 1.06 already in there on 1.01.

I just got the UE DA in Australia and I don't think RTO is working. What do I do?

PS - I'm pretty annoyed that this has happened. Don't they check things work before release.

Yep, me too. I'm another Aussie who's very frustrated with this.
I mean, how does this sort of thing happen??
Surely all the versions are the same other than the (stupid) region coding...aren't they??
If the US discs are complete and work properly, why not the other territories??
It's a bit hard to accept actually...

Some dick just dragged and dropped the wrong file on the master disc. Hope he got fired. The US copies were processed correctly but in thr UK the same process is too hard for someone to do and so they ended up shipping out faulty discs to the ENTIRE country. Did you import from the uk or actually buy from a aussie shop/website?

If a game has dlc i tend not to import it as the dlc needs to be brought from the same psn store as the game is from. So you cant import the game from america and download from the UK store because their incompatible.....if all that makes sense.

All in all just a huge **** up with only a fix for people with internet connections. Bioware/EA seem to have forgotten aboot this problem now. They havent posted any updates in days regarding an offline fix.....shamefull

The aussie versions are the same as the UK versions. So we got screwed as well. To make matters worse, I can't even import my character into Awakening. I spent ages building up that character and now a message pops up saying it wants the collectors edition (I got ages ago), which isn't installed. Wasn't the UE supposed to work with past saves?

They should at least send us a complete American version to make up for this debacle. I have to start all again (if i can stomach it) anyway.

it was yes.....

I cant help you there im afraid. I only played dragon age from the ultimate edition.

I sugest private messaging fernando on here telling him the aussie discs are screwed too. I think their only aware that EU discs are. I know their the same pal2 but they might be slightly different.

I think what the issue might be, is certain items you installed and used from your CE. I do know that any and all items you had previously used in a save game MUST be installed in order for the save file to work. It might be certain CE exclusive DLC that you don't have installed now that the save file has to have. I don't know I'm just conjecturing here. I could be wrong. You should PM Fernando or contact EA support through EA Live Chat.

You probably already got help, but anyway, you need to install each DLC individually from outside the game. An icon should appear beneath the DA icon.

This is another thing I don't get. Why couldn't everything be automatically installed at the same time (including patches, I had no idea that I also need to patch my game online too <_<)? If they wanted to allow players to experience the game without the DLC installed there should have just been a prompt at the install screen where we could select which content to install.

I already have the code to redeem the DLC but I'm still stumped on how to actually get my PS3 online. Going to see if I can visit a friends house.

glad people are starting to get their content, slowly but surely. It sucks for non internet ps3s though. EA cant just ignore the problem and hope it goes away. They need to bite the bullet and ship out a bluray or a usb stick to those who need them. Its only fair. Otherwise someone might sue their ass for false advertising.

Yep, it does suck for us non internet PS3 players.

The usb stick is a good idea, though what are the chances of it happening? Pretty slim I'd bet.

Once again unconnected players are left swinging in the breeze...Image IPB

It would have cost me $2.48 per minuet to call, and it's $8. 45 to purchase. At the risk of something going wrong when I called anyway it was cheaper just to buy it...but it leaves me with a bad taste in my mouth, like the consumer is being punished, and I will think twice before buying my next BioWare product unfortunately :(

I just had this issue also and contacted EA through their live support system. I was asked to register the game on social.bioware which I had to go and do being away from home at the time, then I started a new live support chat and spent 10 minutes describing the issue again having done everything they asked. They then told me to go back to the retailer as apparently a code should have been given to be with the game. At this stage I was getting a bit annoyed and told them I expected them to rectify the issue themselves as I had purchased one of their games which had proven to be defective so it was up to them to resolve the issue. The person I was speaking to then asked me to give them all the codes on the back of the game manual which I did. They then said they had changed things on my account to fix the issue. I have not yet tested this but am reporting that I am most unimpressed with how the company handled this. They are fully aware of the issue so they should have either done a product recall or made it very easy to get proper and timely support for their defective product. Even if they do fix this it doesn't change the fact that I have purchased as disc billed as complete which is in fact incomplete.

That was unlucky. I had a totally different experience. I contacted support (through mail, not live chat) explaining the problem (giving a link to the "European Ultimate Edition and Return to Ostagar DLC issue" topic telling us to contact them). I received a code to redeem on the psn the next day.

Though I agree the problem should have been resolved by either a recall or a patch (which would still be a problem for unconnected people) containing ostagar.

I had the same issue with the UK version. Contacted EA support and they sent me a 16-digit code asking me to redeem it form the PS store. Now, PS store only accepts a 12 digit code. So I used the code in-game and it worked, but nothing happened. I did not get any option to download RTO in the dlc page. I have been emailing EA support for the past 10 days but they have not been replying to me.

What do I do know? This is how they reward their loyal fans? I bought the original DAO, and bought the Ultimate edition as well. I've been playing Bioware games since forever...my favorites being NWN, Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic, Mass Effect and now Dragon Age.

If someone has the solution to my problem, please advise. Is there a number I can call on? I'm in Australia so can't call the UK support. Thanks.

I had the same insert-redeem-code-but-nothing-happens deal. I contacted the support for three times so far and they still couldn't help me.

Then I had this thought: the game is EUROPEAN, BLES, AREA CODE 2. Maybe EA is giving a Redeem Code for the US version of the DLC, which wont be recognized by the EUROPEAN game, no matter how hard we try.

You guys think this makes any sense?

I emailed then with this suggestion, because for some reason I'm not getting to access the support webchat right now.

I think the issue is that our PSN accounts need to be EU or UK as well in order to redeem those codes correctly. Now EA support has been giving out different codes to different users: some are getting 12 digit codes for the PS store while some are getting 16 digit codes to redeem from in-game DLC menu.

I got a 16 digit code, redeemed it but nothing happened. On my profile on this site it shows that RTO is added to my account, but I don't actually see it in the game. So if they give me a 12 digit PS store code, that might work, but EA support has not been replying to me since past 2 weeks. I contacted Fernando and he is looking into this problem.

I hope he will have a solution soon.

Problem solved here.

I got from EA support a 12 digit redeem code for PSN Store. But I had insert it on a UK PSN account. Trying to put it on a US account will result in an error message "wrong or invalid code".

I used the code on one UK account i have and had no problems downloading, installing and finishing the DLC. =D

So, this should solve the issue:

*create a new user on the PS3 system

*create a new UK PSN Store Account for this user

*ask the support for the 12 digit Redeem Code of the EURO version of the DLC for PSN Store

*login on the UK PSN account

*insert the code directly on the UK PSN Store

*download and install the DLC

*logoff the the recently created user

*login on your main user

*enjoy your "Return to Ostagar" DLC

I think thats all. Hope everyone gets it fixed asap. And the guy who did this stupid mistake doesnt get fired, but get his position at AE changed to bathroom cleaning.
