edit: please read up to post #9 before commenting

When they say that the UE includes all the DLC, does that mean that the files are actually on the disc and can be installed without the internet, like the Fallout 3 GOTY edition? Or does it only mean that it contains redeemable codes for the DLC, the same way the Stone Prisoner was included with the initial release of Origins?

I'm asking because I already own some of the DLC and buying the rest of what I want on-line would be cheaper than the UE. However, if the UE allows me to install the game and all the extras without downloading or activating anything, that justifies the extra cost for me.

Note that it does come with a single activation code to tie all the DLC to your account, though. So instead of however many different codes you would have had, you only have the one code. No downloading required, though.

Well currently 3 of my DLCs just repeatedly fail to Download and I've no idea how to install Awakenings - when I put that disk in it just brings up the normal DA Menu then fails to Play due to wrong Disk.

There is no install option!

I mentioned this in your other thread, Intruder314, but in case anyone else reads this that you should install from the DA:O disc (1) when installing the UE over an old installation and continue right through to the end of the install (which will continue with disc 2). You can't start with just Awakening on disc 2. All the DLC will be installed off the discs; there's no need to download.

So we're checking the Ultimate edition for the PS3 (US release) right now, and we cannot seem to find the "single activation code to tie all the DLC to your account". The only code we have is the one for the blood dragon armor for Mass Effect 2.

Thanks.

I just bought it and it just has one disk and it has all the dlc on disk at least for the ps3. Once u load game and it starts you'll need to quit and finish install of all the dlc's from the secondary image below the game image. For some reason it does not install any dlc without your selection. I also noticed that it has the blood dragon armor dlc on it also. They give you a code for what looks to be newer blood dragon armor but the code is invalid due to you only able to recieve one set of blood armor or at least on my ps3

All right, time for a little thread necromancy...

I recently got the Ultimate Edition and decided to perform a little experiment with it. I uninstalled Origins completely, cleaning out even the My Documents and Appdata stuff. Then I disabled my internet conncection and tried installing the UE.

The game does install and start, but all the DLC is listed as unauthorized and during the installation, I even got a reminder telling me to register here in order to use them. Is that... normal? Wanting to be able to install the whole game without any (I really meant any) reliance on the internet was my whole reason for choosing the UE. Otherwise I could have just bought the rest of the DLC over the net.

So, is this a bug, or was there a miscommunication in this thread?

Nope, not a bug.  And Fernando Melo (BioWare dev) has even posted repeatedly about it in the "UE Annoucement" thread.  See also Kevin Lynch's (Moderator) post, the 3rd one in THIS  thread.

You have to connect to the BioWare servers ONCE to "authorize" your content.  Not download it, just authorize it.  From that point you never have to connect to anything at all.
