Just had my group walk (or rather spurt) over that area again, and this time no generic giants and or mages spawned. Then Ascension (?) Yaga Shura appeared and I killed him with a couple of arrows.

Did the Ascension mod get an overhaul while I wasn't looking? Is this the work of SCS2?

(other [partly] installed mods: Fixpack, BGT, several NPC mods, RR,  B!Tweaks, TBTweaks, BGTTweaks, ATweaks, G3 Tweaks, IR, Wheels of Prophecy...)

Ascension didn't get an overhaul. I have both Ascension and SCS2 installed and the last time i did that area (which is two weeks ago) everything was fine. Obviously something overwrote Ascension. In what order did you install your mods? Have you checked your Weidu log?

Yes and it didn't say "Here is the error. Please reinstall this bit." ;)

None of the mods (besides SCS2 and Ascension) should affect this battle, and neither of them in this way.

I'm not very concerned, just curious. But speaking of which, there are some times when SCS2 seems to stop working, for example when I could pick off every single soldier one after another with a ranged weapon. Nobody came to help if they didn't see me.

No, but you might want to check on the install order of the mods. Did you install both the Ascension component "Improved Yaga Shura" and the scs2 component of the same name? Also i'm assuming you don't have Big Picture installed? BP AI and SCS2 AI installed at the same time may cause weird behaviour.

Yeah, install order is pretty important when it comes to Ascension. I know in a standard (non-BGT) install, Ascension should be installed first, before even the Fixpack, for best results. It's got something to do with the somewhat antiquated method by which Ascension modifies the game resources: it directly overwrites them, rather than patches—and consequently if you install the mod later on there's a serious chance of screwing things up.

As to your specific problems, though... it's difficult to say, really. If you post your WeiDU.log, we can probably get a general idea of what the problem is. It might be more productive, though, if you started a topic over in the SCSII forum, if you're so inclined.

I only installed the Ascension part. And Ascension goes first, so I don't need to check the install order.

What version of SCSII are you running? I ask because v14 caused various crashes and glitches.

@ igneous.sponge

I'm using SCS2 v15. And if nobody can tell what's wrong from the mods posted above I think I'll leave it at that. It's nothing major and if one is going with as many mods as I am, bugs are sure to turn up (and going through a weidu.log of that length entry by entry is plainly tiring, so I don't want to tempt anyone to bore themselves to death for me).

I'm curious where you heard this from? The latest version of Ascension was packaged less than a year ago, and the packaging was done by the guy who INVENTED Weidu. Why should I install this before the fixpack?

Download the Ascension/WeiDU Mod (version v1.4.24, size is 1498K) Last updated on Mon Nov 30 23:04:40 CST 2009
Section I. AboutThis is David Gaider's Ascension Mod repackaged in WeiDU format by Westley Weimer. All praise for the content goes to Gaider, all blame for any bugs goes to Weimer.

You can also install it directly after the Fixpack (doing so trades some problems for other problems).
The update a year ago was probably due to a translation, and it was not done by Weimer (as he retired from IE modding many years ago).
WeiDU has evolved a lot over the years but Ascension is still uses the crude (by today's standards) methods of 2002, or whenever it was Weimer converted Gaider's even more crude work.

Renamed topic, because I found a new bug and didn't want to create a new topic. Often a conversation will end prematurely, often leaving the enemy to be not hostile. Usually I can restart the conversation, which I have to do twice. Looks as if somebody is trying to say something but can't. I checked that all my characters are in the area, in the vicinity and not silenced, so apparently the game thinks there is somebody else there (who is missing?).
I'm pretty close to the end though, so I guess I will keep playing if it's an installation thing.
In the beginning I thought it had something to do with Xan, because many of these interruptions happen immediately after he says something, but now I'm not so sure anymore.

Anyway, now you get a chance to take a glance at my Weidu.log and quickly close the thread for fear of having to read through it.

I don't see anything obviously wrong in your Weidu log. It might still be a matter of installation order, but i honestly can't be bothered to check that step by step:P If you're willing too, you can check if the installation order is correct by comparing your Weidu log to http://www.shsforums...ds&showfile=534. But unless you're willing to spend the rest of the weekend on that, i wouldn't bother.

Perhaps Irrbloss would see something i don't see. Just to satisfy my curiosity: in which area did this first start to happen?

EDIT: did a quick check of the BGT forums, but there's no recent thread on a comparable problem. Of course, it might be a problem caused by one of the tweak packs.

I would uninstall Ascension and then reinstall. Missing dialogue, and enemies usually indicates something has overwritten Ascension.

Considering when this started (ToB), I believe you may be right Shadow_Leech07. But, as I said, I'm not going to reinstall anything anymore for this runthrough.

It doesn't sound like an install issue. Not if you can make it through the dialogue by retrying. Besides, I'd be surprised if one of those mods conflicted with Ascension (other than a small one involving the Fixpack).
