Ah yes "The Danger".... So I take it you object to EDI too? Shouldn't Joker have blown the Normandy up, EDI and all 'for the good of all organics?' rather than unshackle her?

EDI isn't on the same scale as the geth and in any case, yes, I'd object to unshackling her except under extremely dire circumstances.

Ah, so AI's are only evil and dangerous in numbers? The fact that EDI is in control of a stealth ship with massive elelctronics warfare capacity, and could potentially replicate itself are irrelevant to you?

The Rachni queen wasn't on the same scale as the Geth either (one queen). I seem to recall you being vehemently in favour of killing her, even though she didn't even have a ship.

Mind clarifying your position here?

I implied no such thing. In fact if you read my post I don't know how you could even reach that conlusion. I don't think you're trying.

I understood your post. I was asking you to elabourate. I haven't seen you complain about the lack of an option to shut EDI off or to do something other than rely on her, or even to be able to reshackle her.

I am not neccessarily accusing you of anything in that you might simply not have thought of it. Hence I am asking your thoughts on the matter, in the context of your position regarding the Geth.

Don't know if anyone's mentioned this, but while the Geth were rising up against the Quarians, wouldn't it become everyone's concern that the Geth might succeed in killing off all their masters? The fear of AI was partly concern of organic genocide, was it not? When it became clear that Geth were self-aware enough to retaliate, it seems the Council should have intervened in case they decided to target other races after the Quarians were defeated.

I would have thought so yet the council seem intent on not taking real action on matters. I for one think the Quarians have a legitimate right to feel agrieved

The Council is all about "for the good of all" when it benefits their interests, but then says "everyone must be able to stand on their own" when getting involved strikes them as more trouble than its worth.

I think they should've been punished for taking matters into their own hands by effectively declaring war over the quarians due to fear and lack of judgement. If the geth ask their masters if they have a soul, why does that mean they would immidiately take up arms against their creators? If anyone has watched Animatrix, I think there's a very large similarity with the start of the geth and human wars.

The council is a soup kitchen when it benefits the council and its cronies.

everyone on the council pulls their weight. The geth had stayed beyond the veil so it wasnt an issue

Can anyone site a source, confirming that the Council:

a) shut down the Quarian Embassy on the Citadel (as opposed to the Quarians' closing it themselves, like the Batarians have done recently as a from of protest, when the Council favored Humans in a disputed matter)

B) actively prevented the Quarians from colonizing a no-man's planet in the Council space should the Quarians so choose

???

"Everyone pulls their own weight" until the council needs someone to pull extra weight, then it's "we need to stick together".  It's entirely situational.

Can't link to the source but one of planets descriptions in ME2 definitely had story that Quarian set colony there and Council used it's fleet to drive Quarians(treatening to bombard colony) out and then gave that planet to Volus(or Elcor maybe don't remember exactly).

Ahh... that's it http://masseffect.wikia.com/wiki/Ekuna

a) not that I know of.

B) Council Space? Can't think of one.

The Ekuna incident took place in the Salahiel System of the Phoenix Massing, and that raises an issue that always bothered me.

Now, as the Phoenix Massing borders the Perseus Veil, wouldn't it be in the Terminus Systems, and thus outside Council authority?

That's a little messed up! I don't get the Council.

"A rogue Spectre is gathering an army? Send 1 Spectre. We can't go near the Terminus Systems, even if we stay on our side of the border."

"Thousands of humans are disappearing? Who cares? It's in the Terminus Systems."

"A bunch of quarian refugees are squatting on some isolated, marginal planet in the Terminus Systems? SEND IN THE FLEET!"

ME2 planet descriptions don't generally impress me with making sense, to the point of them being totally off...

But, yeah, I guess since it is not in contradiction with any other canon facts, it must be accepted.

Thank you.

And then in ME2... "we don't mind you still being a spectre, AS LONG AS YOU STAY IN THE TERMINUS SYSTEMS...." Image IPB

And when you are sent after Tali, there is no mention of it being the other side of the veil, as if TIM didn't consider that relevant to the briefing....

Galactic "geography" is 100% screwed up in ME2, so that Ekuna incident could very well have happened in the Council space.

The Council should be ashamed as to what resulted for the Quarian people. The Citadel Council is often slow to act, we saw that in ME1. In ME2 they throw denial in your face out of fear.

The Council should have backed the Quarian people and rendered punishment afterwards. Instead they turned their backs on them and kicked them off the Citadel. Shameful.

Would that justice be a return to their homeworld, or a bullet in the head?

Perhaps there will be a paragon and renegade path for that.
Personally I'd like to see them return to their homeworld and return to the citadel as well.

on the whole geth and Quarian thing, either i get peace between the two factions and standings in the intergalactic community restored, or i'm the spearhead of the geth fleet as i grind the quarians into oblivion. this bickering is going to end, either by peacefull means or blood.

And it's unlikly anyone is seeing Admiral Xen again.

The coucil screwed the quarian people, it could have easily helped take back their planet from them. The quarians must show the council how angry they are by attacking the citadel
