Say, would you like an armor like Ellen in Kingdom Under Fire?

Why leave her thighs exposed like that? What is the point? Why don't men do the same? I do have problems with armor like that, because it only exists to sexualize her with no thought towards practicality. Honestly, do you need the eye-candy?

As I said earlier, the issue here is I, and some others, would prefer for men and women to be treated equally in this regard. It's not that hard. DAO did fine without it.

*Facepalm*

Really, Saibh. I don't think Ellen is an eye-candy character. Have you ever played the game?
Maybe Cirith is eye-candy, but she's part of a tribal race.

But there were sexualized characters in Origins too. And Isabela isn't all women, she is just one woman... and a pirate woman at that. Meaning representative of counter culture whos looks and ideals are not likely to be reflected by the general populace.

I don't think you have to worry about all women being dressed for panty shots. Just this one.

She's still eye candy, though it's less than the others.

I can actually see the eye-candy aspect of this character. At least from this picture.

Clearly Isabela is the Lady Gaga of Thedas, being Team No Pants and all.

Morrigan's "shirt" would have disagreed completely.  Had it been more than just some skimpy rags.  Or if it was a conscious being and not just a small collection of fabric.

It also didn't move to expose her tiny bra. Honestly, I don't really care about Isabela's outfit if I don't get flashed every other second. I think it's pretty--but if that buttflap flies up at the merest twitch, I'd hate to have to change her clothes because it's irritating me. Assuming we can do that, of course.

Actually a skirt of metal plates would make most sense. Most plate armor used these skirts as opposed to pants even for men as having iron rubbing between your thighs is rather... horrible. In all respects.

A bit pinchy too.

I do think that the barely covered giant breasts on Bethany, and the no pants on Isabella is a bad sign, but as long as we can put more reasonable clothing on them, it's not too awful. And if the toolset ever gets released, those who find the boobs crazy disproportional can change those, too. Fingers crossed for a proper inventory, and a toolset! That toolset just keep getting more and more important, I'll say that.

Well, she isn't wearing these high heels for combat advantage, that's for sure...

I dont think her butt flap is going to reveal her goodies all the time. So no need to worry. If it does, I respect your right to complain.

Butt-flashing is not an optional feature. Sorry.

Well, we've already seen Bethany in another outfit that completely covers her chest to the neck line. So I'm guessing it'll work out okay.

The lack of battle skirts for men is sad in DA: O I've always been a fan of the style. (For realistic reasons)

I don't know about you, but I don't see the eye-candy anywhere (regarding Ellen, at least).

Anyway, I'm off the forum for now.

Ditto. But a few of the armor sets have them.

The Juggernaught set sure did. And I believe the Dragon Plate one did. But both of these were little mini-skirts instead of knee length which would be more appropriate.

what are you talking about, if you didn't wear metal armor in DA, you wore a leather skirt. I guess it doesn't count unless it was a metal skirt?

Yeah, we're talking about plate skirts. As such, leather doesn't count.

Obviously he means plaid skirts made of cloth, like schoolgirls wear.

From the article:

"This muscled cuirass is typical of the body armor worn by Greek warriors in the fourth century B.C. Its date is suggested by the fine articulation of musculature, which illustrates how much body armor had in common with contemporary sculpture—it characteristically provides a sensitive rendering of the male physique. Carefully made to fit the human torso, the cuirass reproduces, often with minute details, the nipples and muscles of the chest and abdomen. In the front, the lower rim of the armor curves over the stomach and up again to the hips. Typically, this piece consists of a front and rear plate with slotted attachments along the sides.Body armor of this type was made by the metalworker Pistias, whom Socrates visits in an anecdote by Xenophon (Memorabilia[/i]III, 10, 9). Pistias' customers stress their need for a proper fit and are willing to pay the price for it."

I've never played the game, I only have that picture as a reference. Why leave her thighs exposed like that? Are they made of rock? Are they completely immune to damage? Come up with a good reason for her to leave her thighs exposed like that when men don't. Or the heels. The element of surprise? I don't see guys traipsing around as the First Battalion Transvestite Bridgade for a reason.
