Considering she IS a pirate I dont' think a bunch of cloth and or armor bits are going to help her swim or float very well. So thong = practical at sea.

Never thought of that one either. Good call.

See I can totally be serious.

Kind of like Halley's Comet.

Not as much as one might think.

Do we know if the Dalish will still like to show off their belly buttons?

I think mail wasn´t worn in direct contact with the skin for a reason. So unless it comes from Discworld, then I would think so.

Chainmail was always worn over linen/cotton shifts, so, no, no chafing. I imagine a chainmail bikini would be draped over a loincloth.

Thats not how Red Sonja wears them. Or how the artists that draw her depict them bikinis.

Gosh, way to go Lord Valandil, you've confused us all!

I know, I know.

*Is ashamed*

Wasn't the best of my examples. Next time I'll try harder.
What can I say? I'm against the "Give pants to Isabela" idea. I don't care about realism. Yeah, Ellen's armor is not realistic, but it is a videogame, not a History Channel documentary.
No, I'm not a "guy who wants his eye-candy", I said before that I wouldn't care if Bioware gives the same outfit to the male rogues. Seriously guys and gals, I'm sure most of you didn't notice the lack of pants of Isabela until you visited the forums.
You haven't played the game, obviously. So, how do you know that Isabela will be "flashing" her butt every second? You don't know. No one knows, except for the devs, of course.
Also, you totally ignored David Gaider's answer, so I'll quote him again.

So we were told that chainmail bikins were never going to be included in DA2, understandable. But what's with having Isabela wear an outfit so short that we can see butt every time she jumps? Or is this the current fad? Side boobs for 2009 and butts for 2011.

We were never against having sexy outfits. What we were trying to do is not have everything be sexy and revealing, even when it didn't make any sense. Our heavy armor is still heavy even on female characters (you can see this in the Lady Hawke armor, for instance) and even for non-armor outfits there are still more modest versions, depending on the character in question.

So there you go. Not every female in the game will have "revealing" or "sexy" outfits.
Isabela isn't the model, you know. She's just an individual character. Maker's breath...I'm sure the next follower to be revealed will cause a similar outrage, because of his/her face, outfit, etc., ad infinitum.
Deal with it Image IPB

Now I've dropped the bomb, and I'll better run. I don't know, maybe I'm just too liberal, but Isabela's outfit doesn't bother me, the same way Ellen's armor of Kingdom Under Fire didn't bother me. In fact...I didn't even notice (AGAIN) that her armor was revaling.
Or maybe I need glasses!

I'm a bit disappointed by the lack of metal-bikini pictures in this chainmail-bikini thread. That is all.

The only reaction the phrase 'deal with it' ever gets it is impolite muttering, often with the word 'ass', sometimes with something cruder. It never, ever makes anyone agree with you, or even stop presenting their point of view.

Not gonna "deal with it" until Bioware coughs up the revealing outfits for males. Why should admirers of the male physique be left in the cold? Let's see some male booty, dammit!!!

I'm a guy and I don't want stinking fan service. Still can't take Miranda seriously as a character because of all the ass shots.

I'm still going to advocate against it! Nothing can stop me, nothing!

The idea of people going into battle wearing high heels and skin tight uniforms makes me want to facepalm.

As a woman and at least from my perspective, that is precisely what I want to be doing in my space-faring future. There's something really commanding and awesome about tall clicky heels, and they're really not all that hard to move around in.

Edit: But I agree about the ass shots. It turns "confident woman" into "obvious male gaze pandering."

Do you often shoot mercs in heels? If so, how many inches are the heels? Besides that, walking over grates or anything with gaps must be a pain, because anyone knows how easily they catch into them. Oh, and getting caught and tripping with them in dense jungle like areas, like Pragia (or, say, Par Vollen, in this case). Sinking in mud. I could go on.

But there were (although not necessarily the modern Prada versions). And are, in Dragon Age. Leliana talks about them.
