That indeed is bothersome.Ryzaki wrote...
...Am I the only one bothered by the fact that instead of hearing her speak we got said shot of her armor? I mean I had no problems with Morrigan's love scene in the trailer but I had watched her character trailer by then. I had heard her speak and interact with other PCs beyond a cool mini-fight sequence.
Then again maybe I watched the trailers out of order.

I guess I just don't think the right response to the male gaze is to cover women up. If the lady doesn't want to wear pants, she doesn't have to wear pants, and I suspect there are enough women working at Bioware to have already objected where objections are due, if they felt so inclined.

Quoted for truth.

Is the animation that shows the legs and butt exclusive to Isabela? If it's a general rogue thing then it's not always gonna be flashing ass. Well, I dunno if I can see Varric doing the high kicks (do I want to? Maybe.) but it'd be interesting if specific combat animations and finishing moves were given to characters.

Panty flashes are Isabella, Cleavage and large bust to another lady. Swinging ponchos showing abs a guy. Equality.

Abs =/= a**, let the men rouges wear only Conan style loincloths that never cover what they need to & have people defend the "it helps with manuverablitiy" argument

By Crom, let's not bring Robert E. Howard into this!
Aren't you arguing that you like the strategically placed bandanna with +5 dexterity? If so, I don't see what you're complaining about. And by customize I also meant "able to switch out armor." Which presumably you can do, as in DAO.Lord_Valandil wrote...

As long as we get to customize and mod, y'all can have your enchanted loincloths and battle-sl*t evening dresses and it won't bother me a bit.
That's very kind and nice of you. But let me remind you that there aren't mods and customs on the 360 and PS3.
Not that I want loincloths or sl*t dresses, but that's not a good argument, you know.
Not the male gaze I'm worried about. I'd rather not see ass flash while I'm playing the game. And since she's a pixel person and I'm the player, she doesn't get to "want" to wear something. Assuming DA is still an RPG and we still get to fit out NPCs as we want.Pseudocognition wrote...
I honestly can't complain about some cheek when we live in a world that makes string bikinis and thongs. I guess I just don't think the right response to the male gaze is to cover women up. (And I wouldn't wish the task of coming up with yet ANOTHER unique set of fantasy armor on anyone. )
Also, @Lord_Valandil, good point about Soul Calibur. Eek.
It's good to aspire to something.Upsettingshorts wrote...

Isabela is wearing a lot more than say, Sandahl Bergman in Conan the Barbarian, though.
