I think they acquired DA to have an RPG but it looks like they are going in the opposite direction...turning it into another action game clone with ME mechanics in it.

Hmmm...
I don't think so. But we'll have to wait for a proper gameplay video to be sure.

What game is Mass Effect a clone of?

All this hate for chainmail bikinis and skimpy armor. Tsk tsk. I am against all my game women dressed up in giant tin-can suits. There needs to be some variety.

The outfit would be fine if she was wearing tights or something, just change the colour of her legs, and remove the obvious nicker line when she jumps, and the problem is solved.

Although I don't know what was wrong with the sensible leather armor she was wearing in The Pearl.

And if we can still change their armor, so much the better, but my hope that we can do this fading fast.

And exactly how do you know where all the permanent shadows are, good sir?

probably the same way I do.  :bandit:

Well, let's compare notes...

screen capture and adjusting gamma levels?

that's purely scientific interest. Honest.

No, really.

We should combine forces and fight crime.  Or at least peer at girls in chainm--

Maaaaaybe we shouldn't.

If you take out all the fluff like cinematic garbage then it's just a skimpy action game, of which there are a slew of on the market right now.

Sort of copy-pasting from another thread, but Isabela's outfit seems to be basically a tweaked model from DAO, the one of chasind robes. As such, you can get a good estimate of what it does or doesn't show.

Also, i'm not sure about the whole flashing thing -- unless i watched entirely different trailer, it seems these parts of the model have deep shadow permanently burnt in the textures, similar to the DAO light armour under-the-skirt parts. So it doesn't actually show anything, even during that slow-motion spinning kick she does.

The fabric moves now, as we saw, and it did move in the trailer--we didn't see an extended fight scene, so it's difficult to tell how much we'll see. But I most certainly saw her panties. Hold on. Yeah, okay. Sorry for the quality.

Am I the only one noticing how conveniently the guy's sword is placed in that screenshot? :innocent::whistle:

Which action game is it a clone of?  Is it like Modern Warfare? Or Battlefield?  How about Halo?  Gears of War?  Those games are different from each other, you know.

If Mass Effect 3 copied some of Bad Company 2's mechanics - it has a larger potential inventory than Mass Effect 2 believe it or not - I'd be like a kid in a candy store.

I think ME2 might have 10 hours of actual gameplay in it, if that and it's mostly straightforward moving from one mindless shooter mission to the next. The rest of the game is just filler.

If you're playing a shooter mindlessly, you're doing it wrong.  Shooters are not inherently "dumber" than RPGs.  In fact, a shooter fan coming to Mass Effect 1 would be justified - as much as such things can be justified - in saying that the shooter elements were dumbed down for the RPG crowd.

Come on. Don't make me laugh, 10 hours? That if you were rushing.
And also, mindless shooter missions, yeah, right. Because you have to use all of your brain cells to finish with other games.

Put your money where your mouth is.  Go to Off Topic and start a thread describing in detail exactly how Mass Effect 2 should have been presented.  Describe a mission and how you would link the narrative to the action through the part the moves the plot forward and the down time.  Describe the RPG elements that would have made Mass Effect 2 perfect for you.

You won't do it.  You'll have an excuse.    B)

And that's sad if that's the average length of a game now. I guess there are a lot of players that don't realize how badly they are getting ripped with the current games....especially the cinematic junk that has very little game in it. I think the devs are more interested in trying to be authors or film directors than trying to develop an actual game. It's an insult as well with them ripping most of the decision making process out of games now...but I guess that the trend audience they now aim for.

The games are getting more and more cinematic. If you haven't realized it, then I don't know what have you been playing.
Also...this isn't a ME2 thread.

I like both games quite a bit.  Where do I belong?  Imagination land?   I also like shooters, sports games, and older RPGs like Baldur's Gate.  I must be some kind of space alien!
