Dragon Origin - Ultimate Edition Steam Version DLC problem

DL through steam. activated but unauthorized DLC
Under your profil tab on this webpage you will see a promo code option. Enter the CD key given by stem for the DLC (the 2nd key) and everything will be activated.
Start DAO and login. The content should be authorized.
You should know that I have not attempted any other solutions or "hacks". If you have done so then you may have corrupted your files to the extent that this solution will no longer work.

Told by tech support same as curry noodles, did all that and ended up with no DLC's. Contacted support again. By this time I had purchased Awakenings which I was reluctant to install due to problems with DAO. Told to create a new email account as old must be corrupted, they would transfer my bioware points and correct the DLC issue.
Needless to say this never happened and after fiddling around with old settings, saved games, did manage at least to get some of the DLC's back but I effectively paid twice for the content, I was never reimbursed.
Bought the Ultimate coz I thought it would solve all these problems. Nowhere prior to purchase did I find mention that you had a one time code for this edition which once redeemed, renders the game unplayable if at some point you have to reinstall. There is no means of retrieval - this is beyond a joke!!! This is CRAZY, I mean we are talking about Windows 7 on a PC! How many times do you have to reinstall???
I just hope someone from Bioware or EA actually reads these forums because going to proper route gets you nowhere at all.
And here I was going to buy Dragon Age 2...........

Got Dragon Age Ultimate from steam it didn't work at first either.
But got it to work and wanted to clear some things up.
Got 2 CD keys one for the Ultimate edition and one for all the DLCs with it
Make sure Dragon Age is closed and not open
The Ultimate edition key is entered on this site under Profile > Registered games and put code with the correct platform that you have. try with dashes at first, (worked for me) if not try without it.
For the DLCs to work enter that second key under Profile > Redeem Promo code enter it in there and without dashes as when i did it with dash no dice!
Start up the game and check your downloaded content and it "might" say unauthorized, mine did but gave it a minute and tab over to buy then back and it cleared up. i suspect all it needed was time to check to the DA servers idk. hope this helps.
Also just some FYI used this on a windows 7 64 bit system
----For Steam buyers this worked for me so here it is from another thread----.
For everyone who is having problems with the DLC on the ultimate edition - I have the answer. I was told what to do by a friend of mine who had the same problem and his worked straight away, didn't thing the same would work for me but gave it a try anyway.
hopefully it will work for everyone else too.
find your dragon age folder, you may have saved it else where but this is how I find mine.
C:\\\\\\\\Program Files \\\\\\\\ Steam \\\\\\\\ steamapps \\\\\\\\ common \\\\\\\\ dragon age ultimate edition
once your in there find the file that says REDIST should be near the bottom, once in there run the file that says DAOU_UpdateAddinsXML_Steam when that finishes run the other file called DAUServiceSetup_Steam, when both have finished start up your dragon age ultimate and hopefully everything should be working.
Thank-you for this. It helped me greatly.
Might I also add that you may want to uninstall any previous version of Dragon Age Origins before installing DAO Ultimate Edition. I'm not sure, but I believe it was partially the cause of my grief.
Again, thanks for the fix.

I was getting very upset at the prospect of not getting the DLC I paid for!
You saved me a ton on headaches, I was about to go and submit a ticket to EA customer support, which would NOT have been fun I am sure.

This worked for me but I had to run the servicesetup as administrator in order for the service to actually be added.

Bought Ultimate to get all DLC.
Activated DLC CD key for Ultimate.
It authorizes Blood Armour (again?) but none of my other DLC content.
I've now got DA:O Ultimate installed, with my original DLC content authorized, and none of my new DLC authorized. Now my one-use code has hit the dust, and not given me the game, what should I do?

IF THE DLC IS NOT LISTED, IT WILL PROBABLY NOT FIX IT. IF IT IS LISTED, IT SHOULD FIX IT.
Download this - http://supportfiles....nostic_beta.exe
Run it.
Read the log file.
If it says:
[Sunday Dec 26 10:42:30 2010] rc=0 ; ServiceStatus=NotInstalled]
Wait for it to finish. Then go to Services.msc (Control Panel / Admin / Services)
Refresh services list.
Find "Dragon Age: Origins - Content Updater" on the list, right click, and "Start" it.
Load up game, log out (if logged in), log in - all content should be authorized.
(This is a hackier version of Snowysoul's fix. Wish I'd read that first; my bad)

I love slapdash account management combined with DRM, under another layer of account management and DRM.
