"2.1 Excess Personas

This appears to be exclusive to PCs. For no apparent reason, additional personas are created (and subsequently used). The change is irreversible. If data does not seem to be uploading, especially if it has in the past, check for this bug (see 1.1). Until such a time that users can set their default personas manually, nothing can be done about this inconvenience."

classy customer service, BioWare.

IF THE DLC IS NOT LISTED, IT WILL PROBABLY NOT FIX IT. IF IT IS LISTED, IT SHOULD FIX IT.

Download this - http://supportfiles....nostic_beta.exe

Run it.

Read the log file.

If it says:

[Sunday Dec 26 10:42:30 2010] rc=0 ; ServiceStatus=NotInstalled]

Wait for it to finish. Then go to Services.msc (Control Panel / Admin / Services)

Refresh services list.

Find "Dragon Age: Origins - Content Updater" on the list, right click, and "Start" it.

Load up game, log out (if logged in), log in - all content should be authorized.

(This is a hackier version of Snowysoul's fix. Wish I'd read that first; my bad)

Wonderful. Thank you Shemmie.

Got Dragon Age Ultimate from steam it didn't work at first either.
But got it to work and wanted to clear some things up.
Got 2 CD keys one for the Ultimate edition and one for all the DLCs with it
Make sure Dragon Age is closed and not open
The Ultimate edition key is entered on this site under Profile > Registered games and put code with the correct platform that you have. try with dashes at first, (worked for me) if not try without it.
For the DLCs to work enter that second key under Profile > Redeem Promo code enter it in there and without dashes as when i did it with dash no dice!

Start up the game and check your downloaded content and it "might" say unauthorized, mine did but gave it a minute and tab over to buy then back and it cleared up. i suspect all it needed was time to check to the DA servers idk. hope this helps.
Also just some FYI used this on a windows 7 64 bit system

----For Steam buyers this worked for me so here it is from another thread----.
For everyone who is having problems with the DLC on the ultimate edition - I have the answer. I was told what to do by a friend of mine who had the same problem and his worked straight away, didn't thing the same would work for me but gave it a try anyway.

hopefully it will work for everyone else too.

find your dragon age folder, you may have saved it else where but this is how I find mine.

C:\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\Program Files \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\ Steam \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\ steamapps \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\ common \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\ dragon age ultimate edition

once your in there find the file that says REDIST should be near the bottom, once in there run the file that says DAOU_UpdateAddinsXML_Steam when that finishes run the other file called DAUServiceSetup_Steam, when both have finished start up your dragon age ultimate and hopefully everything should be working.

GF just got the DAUE off steam and after much fiddling this actually worked.

Thank-you for this. It helped me greatly.

Might I also add that you may want to uninstall any previous version of Dragon Age Origins before installing DAO Ultimate Edition. I'm not sure, but I believe it was partially the cause of my grief.

Again, thanks for the fix. :)

What is it that you guys are doing to locate your Dragon Age folder?  I'm not great with computers and for the life of me I cannot find the right one, nothing with REDIST in it, anyway.  I have windows vista, where should I be looking?  Thanks for the help.

This sorta worked for me, thanks!

But I still have one problem, as it seems that I have to "start" the "Dragon Age: Origins - Content Updater" every single time I start my PC.

Or is it enough to do this once, even if it  tells me that it is unauthorized after I reboot?

If you set it to automatic - that should start the service each time - sorry, I rarely reboot so it's not something I come across. In theory - what you'd need to do is:

Go to Services.msc
Right click, click "Properties"
Change Startup Type to "Automatic".

It should now automatically run after each reboot.

yeah, I am having the same problem
thing is, i got the game through steam and nothing seems to be fixing the problem. I have the game registered on my account here at bioware but it says i am still unauthorized to play anything

this have happened to me too, apparently when I installed the ultiamte adition through steam I don't even get awekening any more. its just the OC, no DLC and no expansion. And when I go to the downloadeble content part, its completely empty. I don't even have them listed as downloaded.

Anything else? I've tried darn near everything, shy of reinstalling DOUE--it took me two days to install it... I'm not repeating that horror K thxs. but if I have to I'll do it, after I rip out Steams auto disable download when playing a Steam game.

Just to say that following the advice of both Curry Noodles and Snowsoul fixed my issues. All DLC re-downloaded and became available in game when I next logged in. Thanks people, you helped a lot.

I bought DAO: Ultimate from Steam when I already had DAO: Origins and had this problem.  What Snowysoul worked for me:

I hope this info helps other Steam purchasers whom already own the original on Steam.

Come on Bioware, there has to be a better way to do DRM...

I'm so glad the Ultimate version was on sale this weekend for $25. That's not a lot of money to learn that I should never buy another EA or Bioware game. I thought this game was sort of ass when I saw it on PS3, but I said hey, for $25 how can I go wrong?

Oh and Bioshock sucked too, so I should have known better.

I was having this problem, and none of the fixes provided in this thread were doing the trick. I was getting something to the effect of 'System Error, unable to login - contact support if the problem persists'. I tried everything in this thread but the error was the same - I then realized I had a special character in my password, and once I changed it to alpha-numeric ONLY, I was able to login to the game. SO, if anyone in this thread is having this problem and believes they may have a non-alpha numeric character in your password - try changing it to something simple and see if that resolves the problem.

I'm having the same damned problem when I bought this game today, I can't get the damn thing registered. So thanks Bioware, please send someone with an answer cause I can't even get all the DLC authorized.

Does anyone know what in the hell should I do?

Hopefully none of you forgot to "Redeem Promo Code" in your BioWare SocialNetwork Profile and then use the Steam DLC key string! I don't understand why Steam made it this way, but registering your game with the CD key is not enough, you have to redeem using the second cd key...
Happy New Year!
