Headwater 000

A gravely and muddy canyon dead end from which I imagine seeing narrow
water falls, creeks, and pools from which a river could start.

Area size is 24x24. Made in L3DT and imported with YATT.

I made a rough draft in L3DT by hand in the Design Map and let it handle the details.

Updated description with blurb to encourage L3DT use.

The L3DT project is small enough to use with the free version of L3DT.  The only difference between the free and pay versions of L3DT is the file sizes they handle.

Do those import into the toolset already textured like that? If so that's nifty.

Yes, L3DT does the texturing for it's own use and for export.  For export, it makes alpha maps, with anti-aliasing if you want. You have to assign one texture to each alpha map when you import into the toolset.

The textures are quite well blended too, so a simple texture swapping exercise can change the whole feel of the area very quickly.

Personally I see this filled with water in the lower areas forming a mountain lake, a beach at the far end with woodland and a Cave. In the cave ... well who knows, but is that a wisp of smoke coming out of the entrance Posted Image.

Thanks for the new area NTB.
