I'm sure that all of you that said that you didn't want a preferential system are really happy with yourselves and I still hate the person who posted this on facebook.
Uh, well, it's for all fans, not for the relatively small number of people who browse the forums. And preferential systems are unfair. That First4Figures site (or whatever it was called) that sells expensive video game statues employs that system as a means of engendering customer loyalty for a product in order for people to keep shelling out 200 bucks. Bioware is selling much more accessible product, and there's no need for that when they know they will sell out.
EDIT: Also, that idea about a draw would be fair, but only if everyone paid 120 dollars for the chance to win a three pack and didn't get their money back if they didn't get picked. Otherwise, the closest thing to fair is just putting them out there and allowing anyone to buy them until they're sold.

We all had just as much chance of failing... I sat for 5 minutes staring at a loading bar wondering if refreshing would help or hurt my chances... That's about as stressful as it gets... And I've got friends who tried to place the order 6 or 7 times and ended up getting errors everytime. Luck of the draw and just as "fair" as pulling names from a hat.
I agree that 1 per customer would probably be "more fair" but that's not really my place to judge.

Yes!

Yes a limit of 1 would help but there are far to many ways around that for it to really help that much

How would that help Duke? Would not having your name selected make you feel any better than an error message? I doubt it. it might sting less (doubtful) but in the end the result is the same. If it would have made anyone feel better then think of the error messages as an automated hat not picking your name. and then please explain how that feeling would be better. I've been on both sides of the error issue before I know how it feels. Frankly it blows but there isn't anything the other forum members can do about it thus lashing out at them is pointless.

The ways around it though are time consuming, which means a 1 per limit is perfect when they sell out this quickly. There's no reason to not do a 1 per order at first and then expand it if there are left overs like Purgia and Purgatory.

I did by accident. When the submission page hung the first time, I refreshed it and submitted again. Probably not the wisest thing to do, but I was desperate. Now, I've received two order confirmations, so I'm writing to Bioware to cancel my second order.
Edit: Seems like I wasn't the only one. There might be a few orders getting cancelled and being put back into the release.

Speaking of Pragia and Purgatory, there are still well over half of each remaining last I checked.

So a few mistakes with only one intentional so far? I didn't think there would be as many multi-copy orders as in the past - $250+ upfront is quite a chunk of change - but I'm still a little surprised there weren't more. Maybe it's just cuz most ppl have logged off already

Which is a shame, since Pragia is stunning in person.

I'm really not that pissed that I missed out. Yeah, I would have liked these, but I don't mind not getting them. What's pissing me off is you idiots decreeing from up on your high horse what is "fair" and what's not.
Is it fair for a person (not me, this is hypothetical) who regulars these forums to check on what's coming up, who has over a dozen lithographs, to miss out on a big 3 pack one because he recieved a store error 5 times, and some Talimancer who doesn't even come onto the social website wants 1 of them, so he buys 3 of the 3 packs and will re-sell all the others online for a large profit?

Are you people for real? Getting a computer error isn't the same as losing out on a drawing. Servers give priorities based on a number of things...including IP address, bandwidth allocation, etc. Beyond that, it's "not fair" when we have to schedule our day around a release, only to find out that it actually came out a half hour early and is sold out by the time we were told it would be up.

I believe the announcement was "10-11" and it hit at 10:30. How is that 30 minutes early?
And as a server administrator: It's prety much pull name out of hat.
Ahh yes. The "Talimancers did it" argument. We'll ignore the fact they're all waiting for the individuals because they're cheap. I'd bet more on "People buying it to sell to talimancers later".

Oh, and I had this post open in the editor while I put up the graph, so I didn't notice the previous two posts. There are still womewhere aroung 400 lithos left, and yes, you have to make your schedule around this release. I'm not sure why you'd expect an online store to plan their release around your schedule, unless I'm misinterpreting whaat you said.

Dr. Tran, I was only kidding with my post. I didn't expect it to be taken literally. Also, I put up a quickly made graph on the first post if you want to take a look at how fast the lithos went.
Ahhh... Sorry for my reaction then, hard to tell jokes in text...
I do like the graph, quite interesting. Looks like the first bunch made it in, and then the rest was the "Oh god server errors!" from being overloaded.

Oy.. sounds like it was an interesting first window. Hope the second is a little smoother. Sounds like it took around 30 minutes but a ton of people were locked out of the system.

Maybe I missed something, there are an awful lot of posts about this
right now.
Never a "hard" time, but they did say as close to 11MST as possible...which in my mind says 11 or later.
@Erik: I'm not complaining about making my schedule around this, I'm saying I made my schedule around this and it didn't matter because it was already sold out by the time we were told it would be up.

Some have been really saying that they actually only want Tali but will get the pack - either being unaware of the individuals release or afraid of not getting one later. So, some definitely were "Talimancers" here. (I use that term when talking about crazy fans who'd jump just for mentioning her name.)
When I say "Talimancer" I mean "Person who romanced Tali", which I am. Crazy fans I just categorize as "crazy fans" and to my knowledge not many in the visible category of fans did much for this sale. I honestly think the biggest impact is everyone expecting the Tali to sell lke hotcakes and trying to get ones to sell to talimancers later...
I personaly only really wanted Tali but I got the pack. I may hold on to the Grunt/Thane, I may sell immediately for close to cost, I may hold on to them for later. I'll decide when I see them in person. To be honest the store images simply wheren't enough for me to decide on those two and they aren't exactly my favorite characters.
Legion on the other hand... Want.

I allocated the entire time slot from 9:30 am to 11:30 am to this... Been around a few high demand rodeos in my time and I never trust that things will hit when expected. My knowledge going into this was "10-11" then "Likely closer to 11" but "10-11" was the only hard time I ever saw...
