Seems likely to me that they could have just put that there to let you know what Jowan's up to after being set free; but I don't know for sure.

I sent his sorry bum back to the Circle of Magi. Stupid idiot and his stupid lying to me during the origin story. Though I'm curious--how did you set him free? What dialogue options and actions did you take?

I had him shipped back to the circle as well, the guy is just too stupid to have him running around. But knowing Jowan, expect him to stand right next to the Archdemon, asking him about the way to the nearest trouble he can get himself into.

So there is more closure to the Jowan story.

It doesn't seem like it is possible on the Mage origin though. I let Jowan save Conner to redeem himself and tried all the dialogue options afterwards but still could only have him sent to the Circle.

Maybe a Human noble?

He's just such an IDIOT. An kinda dopey idiot who isn't really responsible for all the horrible crap he ends up doing and causing, but he's such a liability that I just didn't want to worry about what shenanigans he'd get up to next. When my mage found out he had set all the awful events in Redcliffe into motion, she nearly gutted him with her bare hands.

Okay. i had option to let him go or to execute him.

I had no option of sending to mages.

My setup was,

I was asked to choose beteween the blood ritual, asking the circle of mages for help, or killing the kid.

I chose visitng the circle of mages, which evidentaly lead to me cleansing the tower of all its mages for the glory of the Templars, so that they'd be free to fight for me >.>

When i returned, i killed the kid, (actually i made his mother do it >.>) and then was asked what should be done with him. being "Execute, wait for eamon to awake, release"

As a human noble this was.

Ehm. If you encounter him in the jail he's in, you'll encounter him again in the Redcliffe storyline.

By the way, has anyone actually ever... you know, betrayed him? I wonder what happens if you rat him out to the first enchanter right away...

i let him go free fromt he jail, so when it came to connor it was either kill him or the circle of magi, THIS is why i have an extra quest

I feel sorry for Jowan. He seems like a nice guy, just that he did the wrong mistake, and ends up getting haunted for it for the rest of his life but at least he accepts his fate in the end. I'd love to take him with me. That way he could do some good and I could keep an eye on him. Shame there wasn't an option for that :/...

And now, on topic: Sorry, but I am clueless. I too sent him back to the circle.

If you had "betrayed" Jowan in the beginning, the first enchanter told you to go along with Jowan's scheme anyway so they could catch them in their act later. Either way, Jowan still runs off.

It is virtually the same. The only thing that happens if that the First Enchanter is not disappointed, and Jowan hates you and does not consider you a friend anymore. That is at least the ending of the origin if you do it the other way (I tried both, prefer the one where you help him).

Don't think it will have an impact on further dialogues. But perhaps.

Hmm.. Interesting Ub3r. I sent Jowan to the circle though... Or more like Arl Eamon did. Regadless of me telling them to release him.

That explains. I released him but said something different, kinder.

I told him to help me to atone, and suggested that he be let loose afterward... but they didn't like that so much. Pity, I was really working Bann Teagan with the flirts.

Yes. Exactly. And I too almost had him succumb for my manly flirts!

If you release Jowan and have finished the Arl of Redcliffe and Urn of Sacred Ashes quests then you can find the quest stated above called Jowans Intentions It's a random encounter so just keep walking between places and you'll get it eventually :D
