as you can see, the result is something not quite ME2 but definitely not the same as ME1.
I've got more info in the video description, which i'll excerpt here:
I couldn't go back and play Mass Effect 1 without trying to recreate in some part that sweet, sweet charge and shotgun action.
So first I removed power/talent cooldowns from Mass Effect 1. ENTIRELY. you don't have em, your squadmates don't have em, your ENEMIES don't have em. (and believe me, rocket and assassination spam will definitely keep you on your toes.) The change in gameplay, as you can see, is incredible.
The other thing you may notice in the video is when I equip an invisible gun. this is my attempt to have heavy weapons in ME1. it's actually the Mako cannon. Overpowering damage is mitigated by an incredibly large targeting reticule, and luck is pretty much the only reason i was able to take out those geth snipers as i rounded the corner.
You'll notice at the end of the video that I poured a ton of points into assault training. This is to increase my melee damage. Combat sprinting in ME1 is incredibly fast - faster than anyone could move normally. I didn't need to change anything for it to be a convincing Charge replacement. I tried to fit in a few vanguard Elbows of Doom, but as ME1 doesn't have a dedicated melee button, it was (literally) hit or miss.
