There's a new Mass Effect limited edition lithograph up. 24x36!
Love the size. The design is as generic and boring as can be imagined, though. So bland and uninteresting. Seriously, it looks like it was whipped together in Photoshop Essentials cut and paste by a committee trying to avoid anything which might actually inspire excitement.
It certainly has a movie poster (Star Wars, Blade Runner ect) feel to it. I do like it actually and do enjoy Sam's artworks.
I passed on this one though. I have The Team and the Anniversary Gliclee, I don't really need a third poster of everyone.

I couldn't disagree more with that statement, but to each his own. I think it is one of the best looking lithographs they have put out. It certainly is better, as far as a series summary peice than the N7 day giclee they released. I honestly like it more than the team lithograph, because it has wrex and liara included and covers almost all the essential characters to Mass Effect. This is minus a few notable ones such as Saren, Anderson, Joker.
You are right, certainly has more style then the N7 Day Gliclee. Although I do think I prefer the team still, its less busy, however this ones inspires epic!

Well at least there is the unlimited run for only $25. Since shipping internationally is pretty expensive, next piece of artwork they drop I think I will add this to the basket also for that price.
Yes, don't get me wrong the team lithograph is great one of the very best. It is probably top 5 in my opinion. When I looked at this new one I just thought I had to have it. I was glad I checked the store that day, because it sold out within a day or day and a half.
Hopefully you can get one, if they hold on to extra copies as a precaution for shipping damages that can occur. Maybe it was the characters or a combination of the orange and blue pallet but it caught my eye. Wish they would keep making more lithos as well.
I dunno, "includes lots of important characters" doesn't strike me as necessarily a plus. It's got no style. Consider, say, the Tali or Illusive Man lithographs which I think are among the best. This one just seems to be a bunch of characters in random poses slapped together without any particular rhyme or reason.
But, hey, if you like it then don't let me stop you! I'm just one guy.
I'm not, different people can like different things. I can see what your saying about the poses. One of my favorite parts are the citadel arms opening in the middle and the illusive man outline on the bottom. I like the backdrop of the reapers descending and the colors as mentioned before. The only part I don't like is the characters coming out to the side of the citadel as it feels out of place and a way to shoehorn them in, but it isn't that bad. Hey, I'm just glad they made another signed and numbered lithograph.
I really like it, but I passed. I like the lithos that are more concept art, than promotional poster art. Great litho though!
With the 'old' BSF being shut down, where can a prospective collector go for buying/selling/trading lithos?
I would still try to post here. You can sometimes find lithos for decent prices on Ebay. There are some who sell them that are actually collectors here and not scalpers. If you know what you have that you want to trade, or want to acquire someone will most likely help you out. The older ones are pretty hard to find but not impossible.

I got a Team for sale.
Regarding this last litho, I don't like it at all. The art style is meh. As other have said already, it's too busy and it looks like a promotional poster. IMHO the art concepts look a lot better.
I wouldn't even mind it being a promotional poster if it was a GOOD promotional poster. Check out the Portal 2 70's style movie-promo lithograph for an example. Just beautiful.

I doubt we will see lithographs with these characters to be honest. its not impossible however. They seem to want to reserve lithographs now to what they describe as "epic". If they were to release ones for these characters I think its far more likely they would freelance some artists to do a screenprint or gliclee. Much like EDI or FemShep ones.
I wish the poster from the first game's cover would come back to the store. It was the bast of the bunch of art, in my opinion.
That said, really like the Trilogy lithograph. Since I missed the larger size and would frankly rather have it as an unsigned poster as a consolation prize for them not selling the ME1 poster anymore, I'll pass for now on the smaller print.
I would like to see a stargazer lithograph, that scene is just so epic with the vigil soundtrack playing in the background.

I always thought the Noveria picture with Ashley in front of Peak 15 (the one on the cover of "The Art of Mass Effect" book) would make a nice lithograph.
I like that picture a lot.
For a collectible you need to enforce artificial scarcity or it no longer is a collectible and nobody wants it. They tried selling lithos in greater quantities and it drove demand down into the toilet. There needs to be enough of a scarcity that the best ones go for significant amounts of cash on eBay. If they don't, the market evaporates.
