Jedi, come on man, you can't tell us we're getting a Morrigan, and then not give us a Morrigan litho. It's like telling someone they won the lottery, and then coming back a few days later and saying "oops, no you didn't". Cruel.



What are these "Special' lithographs? ME related or DA age related, or other?

Sounds like they're being cancelled.  Bummer.  I wonder why that is?  The "obvious" explanation is that the DA2 lithos haven't sold out, though 500 each for an unreleased game is a bit optimistic if that is the case; after all, the original ME lithos took a long time to sell and there were less of them, too.  And they were cheaper.

Shame, really, I could've quite fancied some slightly more iconic DA:O lithographs: I mean the likes of Price of Power were good, but not the same as pictures of the main characters, for example.  The Morrigan and Leliana posters would have been good choices for popular lithographs and I would've liked a picture of Oghren leering hideously!  Oh well.

Yeah, but that doesn't really make sense. If the DA2 lithos not selling very well was the reason, then why would they announce that a "next group of DA2 Lithographs" is coming out, but cancel the DAO ones?

Non-character lithos never seem to sell as well as character ones; that's probably why there are still Pragia and Purgatory lithos available, even though ME2 lithos do pretty well overall. At least the DAO lithos have sold out, even if it wasn't particularly quick. Another reason people have put forward for why DA2 lithos haven't sold very well is that the game hasn't come out yet. That makes sense to me. But DAO has already been released, and it was a huge hit; there's no reason to believe character lithos from DAO wouldn't sell well, especially Morrigan. I think Morrigan in particular would sell out in a heartbeat, just like Tali or Miranda.

If they are indeed being canceled, I would guess it has something to do with the artist(s), maybe contracts fell through or something. Either way, it sucks. They could pretty easily sell 500 Morrigans...500 * 40 = 20,000. Twenty grand minus the artist's fee and overhead has still got to be a decent chunk of change.

That seems a bit of a shame. Morrigan I'm sure would have been a good seller. And I was personally looking forward to the landscapes.

What.. so we get lithographs for a game that isn't out yet and Origins is past it's one year anniveresary and we won't be getting any lithos for it? Call me disappointed. I was really looking forward the the landscapes and possibly a Morrigan. Why does ME get all the love in the lithograph department?

We did get I think three - Price of Power, Pride Demon and Archdemon - oh yeah, just remembered which thread we're in ... wanders off to check ... hmm, it really was just the three.  But none of any characters or memorable landmarks like Ostagar or what were to be the upcoming pictures of Redcliffe and presumably Denerim.  I am a bit surprised as I'd have thought they were similar size franchises; and I'm feeling like I've reached saturation point with the Mass Effect lithographs now and could have really fancied some better Dragon Age ones.  Doesn't seem to make a lot of sense from where I'm standing.

Yeah, I remember those three but weren't they super hard to get a hold of? I might settle for a mini Archdemon or something but I was hoping to get a big litho to go in my new study (have lots of bare walls to fill up). I just find fantasy landscapes/characters more appealling than sci-fi.. as much as I love the sci-fi genre, a picture of the Denerim markets or Redcliffe with a castle in the background just seems more to my tastes than some space ships.

Agreed, I picked up Kirkwall, and was hoping for a Redcliffe as well to put on the walls of my office, would have been pretty awesome.

Jedi, does that mean there is no more DA:O are planned at all? I know it's only wishful thinking on my part but I really would have loved a big version of this sketch.

On a slightly different note, I ended up having to order a custom frame for Kirkwall.  Which cost a lot more than the lithograph itself.  Ouch.  Most of them fit into standard A2-size frames quite nicely, but this oddly-shaped one was the exception!

Seems like I was quite lucky in that case: I had no idea it was selling quickly and must've arrived at just the right time when I though "I quite like that, I'll have one of them."  Oddly enough it's the Archdemon that's "the one that got away", though I'm not too bothered since it's my least favourite of the three.

I'm inclined to agree.  I mean a choice between Denerim market or Purgatory... seriously, what were they thinking?  The Wards looked good and Korlus was kind of okay but I feel like they're flogging a dead horse if they're just going to enlarge everything in the ME art book.  There's a huge untapped potential in Dragon Age for landscapes, landmarks, ruins, towns and so on that hasn't been realised.  Even with DA2 around the corner I'm not going to just suddenly forget the experience of playing DA:O.

As for the minis, they're already selling two of the three Dragon Age lithographs in the smaller size.  And, true, they are definitely "mini" but they do look pretty good in a cluster - as someone who missed ME's Illium, Omega and so on I'm glad to have them in an inexpensive smaller format.

Are Tali, Grunt and Thane actually sold out like the OP says?  Last time I ran the numbers, I thought there were 100 left of each.  I know there's speculation of the last 100 being used as replacements, but I thought it was simply that... speculation.  I wasn't sure if Bioware actually said anything to that effect.

Similarly, shouldn't Miranda and Legion be taken out of the Upcoming section in the OP?  And, of course, the Normandy/Illusive Man mini-lithos are already out.  Since this is the centralized info thread, I figured some things could be moved around for accuracy.

With every Lithograph release, theres always some - the number varies, but usually less than 100 - that get held back for replacement purposes. Once the Store is confident that all shipping damage issues have been resolved, they will be re-released in a last-ditch sale. These are generally unannounced, except possibly on this forum. I've been tryin to keep track though, and I think theres still Legion, Miranda, Tali, Grunt, Thane, and MAYBE a few Normandy's...so yes, theres still a chance you can get one of these in the future from the Bioware Store for $40 (makes those "market values" of ~$200ea. look ridiculously inaccurate, right?).

Now don't go PM'ing people like Jedi asking for favors or even about this...it'll take time, and it would be better just to be patient, check the store, and check this forum. Also, it should be pointed out that Litho's that have been up for a while will likely not have any held back (such as the last DA:O Litho Pride Demon, and the ME2's - Pragia and Purgatory).

It looks like Grunt and Thane lithos are available at the moment... at least they are no longer listed as out of stock and there is an option to buy them.
