Out of curiousity, does anyone know if it make a difference in the plot if you play a pureblood yuan-ti in SoZ? I'm far enough along that it would be really annoying to start over in order to find out for myself.

Not much. In Samarach they'd execute you on sight if they knew.

You get some amusing dialogue options in some places, but you don't get killed on sight or anything once you get to Samarach. For game purposes, you're "disguised" as the race description mentions.

At one point you get to thumb your nose at them. "We ARE yuan-ti, you morons!" or something like that. That alone makes it worth it.
p.s. With the yuan-ti heads the game provides, anybody who doesn't instantly know you're one really is a moron.

Well, as you can say, "You wouldn't know a Yuan-ti if it slithered up and stabbed you in the eyeball."
They're pretty dumb over in Samargol, with their powdered beard of Elminster and entrance to the Underdark a quick jog from one of their towns.
