Anybody else keep pausing their game by mistake because of trying to jump? 

Bah, I really hate this about stand-alone games.  So many of them don't include a jump option which we're so used to from MMORPGS.

We need a jump add-on.

You are not waiting for the rest of your guild/party/PUG to gather. So there is no need to jump around like a bunny out of boredom.

You must be one of the people that jumps around like the freakin energizer bunny in WoW raids. Oh how many times i have wished that friendly fire was an option in WoW

Oh, so funny, I have Pause-Jumped (as I now call it) dozens of times so far. Every time I do it, I feel like I should say "En-chant-ment".

You mean because of the reflex coming from the usual WASD and Space Bar configurations in FPS games mostly? I would imagine it could be the case for many, but I am lucky to have been using the directional arrows and the Right-Shift keys for movement and jumping in my PC FPS games ever since I played Quake II hehe, I never mistakingly press the Space Bar thanks for a lack of such relfex from other games. I even played most of my first playthrough on Easy and dynamically. My next playthrough will be on Hard so I'll have to pause often but for the good reason hehe!

No, I don't want to jump around "like an energizer bunny". I've never done that in games so way to go on the assumptions.



I WOULD, however, like to be able to jump over rocks, etc. as I'm running, just as I would if I were really this talented hero.



As for my keyboard, I have one of those gaming keyboards so it is a specialized set on the left, separate from the main keyboard but it does include a button for "jump" which also doubles as space since that is what games usually map it to.



Anyway, let's try to keep this civil, eh? It was only supposed to be a fun thread.

I have a friend that is a soldier. He's with our countries special forces and thus i consider him to be a modern day "talented hero".
You know what he does when he encounters a rock too big to walk right over? He goes around.. Like any other sane person would unless they feel like goofing around.

I really want to jump too - the lines where youc ant get past something when a simple jump over a branch would be awesome. It is a step back from the lovely sand box games such as Oblivion. You are railroaded in most zones. Jump would solve this - now I know i havent finished the game yet - but the loading screen info on the gryphon mounts is a lovely teaser - do we actually get to fly ? I am guessing not as this is not a 3d game (same as SWG) - it LOOKS 3D, but as you cant jump, and of cousrse as we cant swim (another gripe) so there is no Z axis movement.



Apart from that - awesome cut scenes, lovely camera work, not a bad AI, great script, lovely graphics (apart from SILLY SILLY mage hats). Cant wait for some more lownloaded stuff (that I dont have to pay extra for)

I do the same. You just want to jump that log, or jump from cliff to cliff, but all you get is a brief pause.

Post likes this makes me even more content about my decision to never touch WoW. Jumping? Why?

Im a console user, and every console game has a different jump button so its not an issue with me. That said, I used to be a hardcore PC gamer and I can definately imagine the problem.

seconded, I hate rabbits.

I didn't get in that habit until I started moving like I did in WOW. using both mouse buttons (I don't think the manual says you can even move that way). So I got in the habit of using both mouse buttons to move and keeping my left hand to strafe around corners and such (though you can't actually strafe sadly- just turn). So sometimes I like my left hand to things, and jumping is one of those things. I must have paused the game 20 times by now trying to jump.

and there are valid reasons to jump in wow (like scaling mountains you aren't supposed to climb ). And in this game sometimes I get stuck on steps and such, so there is a strong desire to jump.

Yes, I'm constantly trying to jump; especially when I see a small step or bump that I can't seem to walk through.

It's not just MMORPGS though, I normally only play FPS games, and I'm used to jumping in that.

I miss jumping in all games. It's a nice change up from the constant running animation. Plus, I really just want to jump into some water or jump up a steep hill. -sigh- I like exploring, but not being able to jump makes it very limited.
