Don't get me wrong, I like competitive gameplay but for that I play FPS games or alike, which also have the advantage over MMO to have everyone starting the battle in the same conditions (if not the computer spec and lag, but games can't do anything about that), so only the player reflexes matters in that case.
I have nothing against the Twitch-MMO-Half-RPG concept, after all it's all about tastes.
What I'm however sad about is that these kind of games due to their popularity are slowly replacing the standard RPG MMO, who are not developped anymore.

I AM said that conversation skills never play a part in MMOs. It's my favorite part of RPGs

I think every game I played where I got stuck somewhere without a means to get out it was because of jumping
In this game I got stuck and couldnt get out because of lack of jumping
Ran into a pool of water in the deep roads (Ortan Taig I think).
Character dropped into the water and of course couldnt get back out.
Luckily on of the others' had their AI slow to respond in following, so I could get that one to walk around and teleport the rest of the party to him.

Yeah unfortunatly.
I understand in any MMO, that once you've beaten all the PVE contents, it's mostly either about raids, guild wars or pvp, or chit-chatting . But I wish the PvE and NPC interaction was not sacrified in the process...
I'm looking forward to try Star Wars: The Old Republic. I'm not waiting any miracle from it. I just hope that the story driven and NPC interaction part is developped enough.

Edit: nevermind that jumping would allow easier traversal of certain landscapes which are currently hardboiled with specific paths ala NWN2.

Agreed. I enjoy PvP a ton (raiding....eeeeeeah...not so much, it bores me) but even I would like to have more chat options w/ NPCs.

It's hard to kill elite monsters when you keep jumping in front of them while trying to pause. :innocent:
