Just finished Dragon Age Origins again. I gave bella the money to leave
the tavern for good. However during the epilogue Bella was never mention
during the Redcliff segment.

I got the usually save village Connor was sent to the Circle of Magi, etc...

Plus Bevin, Kaitlyn's brother in Redcliffe became the famous adventure.

Is this a glitch or something else?

Sounds like a glitch.

Yeah, I gave Bella 5 gp twice and never got her epilogue.

Are you sure you actually gave her the money and that it was deducted from your cash? I vaguely recall a dialogue option that makes it seem like you gave her money, but the game doesn't register than you actually did.

You could reload the autosave just before the AD fight and replay it and make sure you didn't just miss the epilogue card.

Otherwise, yeah, glitch.

Pretty sure I saw the lost money text pop-up.

Good to hear I'm not the only one that ran into this issue.

I give Bella the 5 gold each time and she has always showed up in the epilouge. I have read this thing about bevin being an adventerer? I have never seen him show up in epilouge. his sister does, but not him. I always pay them for the green sword and send him back to his sister in the chantry. Am I missing something?

You have to give the sword back to him after the battle in order for Bevin to be mentioned. If you do that, then he becomes a famous adventurer himself, and tells of how the Warden borrowed the sword to use during the battle, then returned it.

I see. And do you still get to give kaitlyn money to go to denerim? I will try it out next run!

No, you can only get Bevin or Kaitlyn's epilogues, not both.

I've never managed to get Bella's epilogue either (except the one where she runs the tavern in Redcliffe, if Lloyd dies).

Except that whenever I do this, the sword doesn't actually disappear from my inventory! I still get the ending slide though. Anyone else get this glitch?

I looked this up in the toolset once. If I recall correctly, if you put Bella in charge of the tavern then you can't get the epilogue where she goes to Denerim (even if you give her money).

@Ferretinabun: That always happens, it's a bug in the game.

I've never gotten the Bella epilogue myself, in 2 playthroughs now. I gave her the 5gp and even Alistair gave me approval, but it hasn't shown so far. Perhaps it's because I also give Kaitlyn money to go to Denerim as well. Perhaps on this run through I'll give the sword back to Bevin and send Bella off to Denerim or something. Somebody has to marry Teagan lol

If I remember right from digging around in the toolset Bella's epilogue if you gave her money is glitched, or at the least has some rather odd requirements to get it to trigger. There's a similar problem with Kaitlyn's epilogue, it only triggers if you give Kaitlyn 5 gold before the battle and not after (the plot flag doesn't set properly if you give her money after the battle).

For Bella's tavern epilogue I think you have to also trigger the epilogue card for Bevin becoming a great adventurer by returning his grandfather's sword, due to the slightly odd way the slideshow is structured.

From all information gathered. For it to trigger Loyd must remain at the tavern & not enter the battle. If you give her the money & force Loyd to fight. Bella becomes in charge of the Tavern. Game will think she is still in charge of the tavern. Which makes the game skip her epilogue. Also might be a glitch that conflicts with the Sword Sub-Plot. Even if you return it & not give her the money.

I just hope doesn't have some kind effect in Dragon Age 2. From Interviews only the more important decisions carry over into Dragon Age 2. Leaving the tavern seems minor. We will not even be in Red Cliff or Denerim in DA 2. Atlease I don't think we will be in Denerim.

Was thinking of Re-Playing Origins again trying to get Bella to leave. Just don't want to Re-Play the game again just for one minor Decisions. If I have time I'll re-play Origins right before DA2.

Ah thanks for that, Revan. I always make Lloyd fight so that explains why her epilogue doesn't fire.

Funny.

Every playthrough I give Bella NOTHING and Lloyd LIVES and she takes over the tavern in Redcliffe, naming it theWarden's Rest or something like that.

Now as I understand it if you give her 5 gold she opens a brewery in Denerim.

I once told her that Bann Teagan could use a handmaiden and she said she would go do that. Got no epilogue but as I understand it she was supposed to marry Teagan (I gave Bevin the Sword back so Kaitlyn got no acknowledgement).

So who the ef knows?

It never happens if Teagan takes over Redcliff. That means Alistair can't be king with Eamon at his side. Yes, it's a bug.

Aha.  So:
  • Don't give Kaitlyn 5 gp because Teagan will marry her instead.
  • Don't make Lloyd fight because he'll lose the tavern to Bella even if he lives.
  • Don't make Alistair king because Teagan will move too far up the social ladder.
I haven't managed it yet but someday I'll get the slide!

I'm going for it in my current playthrough. Done Redcliffe...but still have quite a lot of game left before I get to the end. Will report back.

A couple of things:
  • Looking through the toolset, I can find no trace of the epilogue slide where Bella marries Teagan. I have doubts about whether it exists. If anyone can find it let me know.
  • For the purpose of the epilogue slide I could find, where Bella goes to Denerim and opens a brewery (no mention of Teagan), it does not matter whether or not Alistair is king.
  • You can let Lloyd fight, just don't speak to Bella again until after the battle.
  • To see the slide about Bella returning to Denerim "Kaitlyn was made rich in exchange for sword" needs to be true. You CANNOT have returned the sword to her.
  • This means that to see the slide about Bella going to Denerim, you have to see the slide about Kaitlyn opening a foundry and marrying Teagan. This reinforces my doubts about the existence of a Bella / Teagan marriage ending.
  • You have to give Kaitlyn the money before the battle, or else the plot flag about her being rich doesn't set.
Hope this helps.

Assuming there are no mods installed, then yes. But I'd only bother with this if you're playing on a console. If you're playing on PC there are mods that fix these bugs.

My current playthrough I tried to give the sword back to Bevin but it wouldn't let me. I clicked on him and it just said something like thank you for giving us money. Come to think of it, I didn't get the option I normally do to give Bella in the tavern money. Guess she's stuck in Redcliffe forever, lol.
