You give the sword back to Kaitlyn.
Anyway, the two mods i know of that fix the epilogue issues (including Kaitlyn) are my ZDF and Terra_Ex's Morrigan Restoration Patch.

I researched this a long time ago but if I recall correctly I don't think it is possible to give the money before the battle. You can say you'll help her, but you can't actually give her the money yet. So promise to help her before the battle and then return afterwards.
