Probably malware from an advertisement on a web site such as Nexus, though I have never had an issue with being infected by downloading files from here or Nexus
There are several anti-virus rogues out in the wild, I usually end up cleaning out from 3 to 5 infected systems per day where I work. Most seem to come from advertisements that get hijacked...
Most machines I have cleaned out usually have anywhere from 60 to 250 infected files (excluding suspicious cookies). I ran into one machine that had over 12,000 infected registry entries alone, the machine was infected with over 15,000 registry emtries and infected files.
