Loathing her for what reason?Dave of Canada wrote...
I remember people loathing Morrigan when she was first announced, though I can't seem to remember if they were as offensive as these anti-Isabela people.

Her outfit, her face, her body, how nobody would love her. The usual.

From Mass Effect onward, there will always be people who perceive the lead female to look mannish in some way. Particularly chins.

Not only lead females. According to these forums, everybody has a weird chin.

Well they do. In Origins people tended to have long faces ('cept dwarves) and hollowed cheeks, with the eyes set high on the head (and sometimes small and far apart, too). In 2 all the features are sort of squished into the center of the face which makes the faces look wide, puffy and big-chinned. Weird.
I think part of the reason people like my avatar warden so much is that I brought her facial proportions back into the normal range. Her eyes are set to the max low on the low/high slider, for example. Oh and I pay careful attention to the line of the cheek, from cheekbone to chin, in 3/4 view. On all my wardens. Very easy to get freaky sunken cheeks in Origins.

I just hope Bioware doesn't give in to the rabid complaints here about the need to change Isa.

Morrigan I can't fault as I thought she was really pretty and still do.

Meh. I hated new Isabela's rotund chin but right now I'm okay with it.

When I first met Isabela in DA:O she was a generic woman who was about to offer me a quest, But after a brief conversation and a censored orgy I never forgot her name. My point is that she looks alot more memorable. Also everyone says "She has no pants" boo hoo if you were a female mage or in some cases a rogue of either gender then you didn't were pants (example Robes of the Witch and Non-studded Leather Armor)
The problem is that she doesn't cover herself not that we are all pants fanatics

I don't care what she is wearing as long as I can change it.
Think people should care more about that than her tunic.

I actually redid one of my perfect playthroughs because of the odd cheeks, made it seem extra creepy. I only use vanilla resources though so it doesn't look that much better.

Yeah that's a perfect example. The top one just looks downright unnatural. The second is a vast improvement just by making that small adjustment.

Tarkin!
On topic, people should stop marveling at amount of whining that anything revealed about the game causes on these forums. I've been saying that for about a week now. I wasn't here for the DAO marketing but I bet my boots Morrigan and Leliana got just as much flak as Isabela, if not more.

From what I remember it really wasn't much different. People were just as crazy over Morrigan then as Isabela now. There was the boob size, boob spacing(my personal favorite) and shoulders width debacles. As well as the deepness of her torso. She was called horse faced, tranny, barrel chested, bow legged and a whole host of other things. After they changed her look somewhat she was called a skank and a **** and all the stuff they're calling Isabela now. Everyone was also certain she was the FF love interest because her looking promiscuous meant she must be a lesbian or bi. And all this before we really knew anything about the character, at least with Isabela she has a bit of a reputation, Morrigan was just a witch from the wilds as far as we knew.Dave of Canada wrote...

The only difference here is they are taking a character(if a minor one) and changeing her appearance instead of just showing people something for the first time. It's all the same though, people like what they like and hate what they hate and the internet lets them say that in the rudest way possible with little consequence. Plus people waiting for something to come out stir the pot just because they're so damn frustrated with waiting.

1- it's an angle thing ; there are other screen shots
2- their taste isn't universal
3- the writers have explained several times why her look has been changed from the previous game
-and 4 (in case this comes up again) : she's not a ****.
If no one reads anyone, it's not a conversation, it's endless spamming !
