The way I remembered it. Its alot more *difficult* hmm maybe *elaborate* of a process to romance people in the Baldurs gate games. Seems like while romance is a Bioware staple now, it just seems to quick sometimes. Like you can bed your LI with very little persuasion or dialog or drama. I like a little drama. Morrigan, Jack and Zevran will sleep with anything that asks just about. Isabela prob too. Miranda, leliana and Alistair took a litte more persuasion but still pretty easy.

I guess what I'm saying is I liked it best when LI's weren't so obvious that they were LI's. Does this make any sense to anybody but me because I cant tell anymore and am too tired to rewrite it any better.

I agree I feel like you need to work for an LI

with the loving romances after sex the romance ends, well in Leliana's case it did.

I thought Nathaniel was in the Free Marches for a long time? Like... his father sent him there even before the beginning of the Ostagar battles, probably while he was planning his Cousland genocide plot or whatnot, so Nate wouldn't interfere... so that would make it approximately two to three years in the Free Marches.

Hawke could always have a one-night stand with Nate. (Because Hawke can have sex with anyone he or shewants besides his or her beloved sister) Then he runs off back to Ferelden and meets his true love Velanna. So much for not chasing skirts in the Free Marches 

I dearly hope the other female LI is an elf. Elves are cool beans. And I also want a male Qunari romance. Badly.

Ummm, after reading through this thread in one go... Am I the only one seeing a resemblance between Liara and Leliana? Besides their name's both starting with 'L'...   I'm not sure why, I've never really thought about it before but now they feel kind of similar...

As for DA2 LI, I kinda like it when it's a bad girl. Nice girls are nice to be with, but there's nothing like a bit of spice to make your life a bit more interesting. Which is why I definetly don't mind Isabela as a LI   Though she might be a deadly one...

Pleasepleaseplease no Carth syndrome. I got sick of his whining even before I finished my first playthrough of KotOR, and Kaidan weren't that much better. Both with their "I've been through so much, feel sorry for me" puppy-eye speeches. ... Sorry to all of you who likes these two, it's just my personal opinion.

Strangely enough though, girls never seem to whine as much... Maybe that's why I prefer the female LI   Though Leliana sure was a chatterbox sometimes...

I doubt there will even be a qunari companion, unless they are an outcast the qunari people seem very codependent clan types.

only resemblence between Liara and Leliana is that they are insecure and both psycho in their own ways.  but thats my opinion.

Can a LI be spicy and very bad BUT at the same time be VERY serious about love and sex, and be pure? Can a LI be hard to get ( have to work for it ) BUT at the same time feel like that person is interested in you too, you know feel like your LI is working for your romance too so that it isn't one sided. ( Will also stop the romance at once if see player flirt with anybody else, not to mention having sex ) I would also like it if when it gets very serious then your LI puts the romance above of morals and will accept any players decisions but will expect the same from the p;layer when it comes LI's business.



Was there ever a game with a LI like this, or similar?



Anyway I must be asking for too much but this is what this thread is for...

Not on the level of complexity your talking about, and certainly not in a game where you get to choose LIs.

No I'm not talking about Isabela. She doesn't take love and sex seriously. I like your last saying though as long as the person takes romance seriously.

I'm not sure that kind of things can go together, Sex is a bonus for those that are in love. I don't care when somebody else had sex either before romance or in progress or somewhere in between still feels bad and the interest in that person fades.
Just my opinion though.

That would pretty much be the best LI ever.
